Google Bumped my site down?
 

I just bought a 2 year old domain http://fuckem.net and when I purchased it there was just a base splash page on it. Exactly like the domain http://fuckem.org still has on it. Both of these domains were listed on page one of google/yahoo/bing.

I put a word press theme up on it and added content. And done seo as good as I can at this point. ( Google analytic's says my seo is pretty good ). Done all this 3 days ago. Today I am bumped to page 5 in google. still page one at this moment in yahoo/bing.

Is this just a norm that happens when a site is completely changed?

I got all the old files in the purchase. Would it help to rename the old index page and just have it there running but not accessible unless you stumble across it? Or is it too late to do that?

I am irritated and at a loss as what to do. Can anyone help me understand this?

I have had a similar problem in the last couple of days.....page 1 to oblivion. I have taken heed of the advice given on here, I.e. Keep building links, etc and monitoring the situation.

I agree and will be building links and keeping the site fresh with content. But it still seems odd that a splash page site with nothing on it and no links gets top ranking. And once you develop it and ad content, keywords and everything. You get bumped.and penalized for no popularity. Makes no sense to me at all.

Dont worry about it, it will come up again. Add fresh content and build links and be patient

I think there is serious value in non wordpress html code

If you are going to use wordpress, convert your posts to pages

On the other hand, google must suffer from PMS because you can drop from one day to the next for no reason. It is like there is a re-index and it doesn't give you any more credit. I dropped traffic from google about 60% one day. A year later, it all came rushing back. I had not done anything to deserve the drop or the gain.

Start building links and more links. Not to fast and not to slow, make it look natural and you will be higher in the ranks then you were before.
