I do too, I have other sites engineered just for them, and they are bringing in the bacon. That search engine is a doddle compared to google.

Those figures are for this month btw.

PornMD 10-27-2010 02:14 PM

That many people still use Dogpile?

TheSenator 10-27-2010 02:15 PM

I still can't get a good listing on Bing or Yahoo.

deanberkeley 10-27-2010 02:17 PM

Yahoo uses Bing results now, so you are getting 21% of your search traffic from Bing powered results, and you say that isn't significant?

Rankings 10-27-2010 02:18 PM

Bing/Yahoo (98% the same) traffic is low, but when properly targeted and placed, its still very effective

What part of "serious contender" do you not understand?

It has been online just over a year, and judging by Googles changes in the last year, I would say that at least Google is taking them seriously. And the ride isn't over yet. :2 cents:

It's built on the back of a search engine which is a decade old. Considering the customer base that must garner, it's a pretty pathetic showing.

You're right though Dean, this whole "Google Instant" is probably a direct result (and easily milked).

Agent 488 10-27-2010 02:53 PM

bing/yahoo sucks. google is competing with facebook and twitter search. using twitter search for current/breaking events kills google atm. thus google caffiene and including twitter results in search. bing/yahoo isn't on the radar.

You are one of only a few people here that know what they are talking about. You're not JF's alt nick are you?

Btw, Youtube is 2nd in search space. Get your videos up :winkwink:

Bing sucks, yet Bing also delivers Facebook results which Google is competing with. :error I don't really like Bing as it is, but I think it has lots of potential and with the things they are working towards in the future, I think Bing may very well be the future of search. :upsidedow

Wizzo 10-27-2010 02:57 PM

Google is by far still the king even with Bing and Yahoo merging they can't deliver near the traffic and sales that google does... :pimp

just saw this now. yes youtube 2nd biggest search engine. but didn't think relevant to mention here because google not competing with itself, or maybe is, who knows ..

V_RocKs 10-27-2010 03:11 PM

Conversion wise Bing is better than Google. It would seem that people using Bing have more cash to spend while Google surfers are looking for freebies.

not more cash to spend, but i bet less-savvy and more likely to pull out a cc maybe.

CunningStunt 10-27-2010 03:40 PM

Exactly. Everyone who is cluey goes to google to search for anything.

Noobs will use binghoo and are more likely to spend.

Conclusion? Figure it out yourselves.

seeandsee 10-27-2010 03:55 PM

Its not funny for me, if its 10%

The reason why Bing traffic converts better is because it is advertise on TV. They target their ads on Spike TV late night and on the Comedy channel.

I need some of that Bing traffic.

bronco67 10-27-2010 05:28 PM

There's always someone arrogant enough to think they're going to topple the king. Google is the shit.

Damn Microsoft, how much is enough? Not only do you run most of the computers in the world, but you also want everything being searched on those systems by your search engine too? Now you've got a damn phone coming out? I really hope it fails.

GatorB 10-27-2010 05:31 PM

For the record Yahoo gets it's results from Bing.

tabasco 10-27-2010 05:47 PM

CunningStunt 10-27-2010 06:13 PM

Tabasco, do you have much Australian traffic? If so, hit me up, I'll put you on to something.

You know what though, even though the volume for SEs like Bing and Yahoo is low, shit converts like hotcakes. :thumbsup

arock10 10-27-2010 08:51 PM

21.4%, but they are the dumbest surfers the internet has to offer

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 10-27-2010 08:53 PM

yahoo/bing users = mostly people who know dickall about computers and just use the default installed search homepage that was set in their browser = $$$$

more traffic doesn't always = more $$$

tiger 10-27-2010 11:07 PM

Nice numbers.
