What party increases Federal spending and National debt

...Both parties but the Republicans are the biggest growers of Federal spending and increasing the National debt.

Fat Panda 10-28-2010 09:52 AM

its all a fucking lie!

The Demon 10-28-2010 09:54 AM

Some federal spending like in the Reagan years was necessary. The Bush and Obama years, it was unnecessary and detrimental. The Republicans are flying under the banner reducing budget spending by 100 million. Let's see if they're full of shit or not.

Did you mis-speak when you said 100 million? I am of the opinion that they will prove themselves to be full of shit.

Yea like the $64 billion that was spent on the drug war during Reagan? That doesnt include the cost to lock up over 200,000 people for drug use during that time. Gotta love the party of less guvment.

theking 10-28-2010 03:30 PM

To the top.

Fat Panda 10-28-2010 03:32 PM

Both parties do this shit and I doubt it will stop until we go bankrupt and/or destroy the Dollar.

Please provide your sources.... I know this is a foreign concept to you but if you want to be taken seriously, don't just post shit without backing it up.

Gasp! So when the republicans repackage themselves every four years as the party that will shrink the government and cut spending they really aren't? I'm shocked :)

What is shocking...is that people apparently buy into it every time.

epitome 10-28-2010 07:11 PM

I have never been a Republican...so yes you were wrong.

The Demon 10-28-2010 07:45 PM

Everyone is tired of the Dens so now the Republicans have their shot. They screw up and it's all Dems come 2012.

Vendzilla 10-28-2010 08:05 PM

the current level is at 100 billion, but unless they take the house and the senate, that will be hard to do , but they can put a halt to the Obama Agenda. Barry even said something about that on comedy central

Yes...a House with a Republican majority and a Senate with a Democrat majority...and a Democrat Administration...should mean that the Democrat's agenda will be curtailed...as well as any Republican agenda. In other words a do nothing Congress...with a crippled Presidency. So the current economic status will remain pretty much as is.

Welcome to the next couple of years.

I had read something a few days ago that there are rumors that Obama secretly wants the house and senate to go back to the republicans. He has been moving to the center since he got elected and this will let him do it more. Also, if things don't work out he can blame it on the republicans in 2012. It worked for Clinton pretty well, seems like Obama is hoping to try the same strategy.

Neither side wants the other do anything well. Unfortunately that "anything" is us.

Holy fuck... Bush jumped the % debt/gdp from 56.4% to 83.4%.

What I find interesting is that every democrotic president left office with that % lower than when they started... The Regan/Bush presidents all left office having increased that % by huge numbers. Those guys really fucked things up.

That's what they're counting on.

They're all doing the same thing. They know that we'll keep switching the controlling party in and out and never look at the real problem: all of them.

Yeah the good old days of Carter. Man I wish we could see 22% interest rates again. Those times were fun.

Bush was a huge progressive, Obama has now jumped debt/gdp to close to 98%. We should be close to, if not over 100% by 2012.

Ton of factors go into these charts.

All parties but Libertarians support bigger government and more spending...

The Republicans at election time always proclaim the same thing...but as the charts show reality is different.

And then both parties can say hey don't blame us, it's the other guys who prevented us from fixing anything.

It'll be good gig for the professional politicians but a bad deal for everyone else.

You got a funny idea of "fun" :1orglaugh

That idiot Carter was the whole reason why it took 12 years and a nasty recession for the electorate to take a chance on voting another democrat into the White House.

Both spend. One spends trillions on unnecessary wars started because of false cherry-picked 'intelligence' about another nation. The other spends trillions on providing significant improvements to our health care system which will evolve into a huge amount of research data capable of reducing costs and improving care exponentially.

The trillions get spent either way. The question is what do you want to spend them on. Oh, btw, anyone who claims one party or the other will reduce spending is simply incorrect.
