What should one do if he is smarter than the boss in terms of maths, logic and street smart? How can one advance in his career in this situation? He feels that he is not realizing his full potential at this stage...

thats quite an open ended question, but it's never too late to be your own boss. i took one job after highschool and quit 6 months in to start my own business. never turned back.

I'd go with be your own boss. Bide your time though until you do that. Work hard (why not if you're AT work) and well but don't work to show that you'd be better than your boss at their job, or they'll find a reason to get rid of you.

I agree with Maddog and PornMD answers. go step by step 'til you dont need that job, then brag about your new ride (if he's a mean boss or something lol)

I am not a stupid guy and just hired my first employee who is definitely smarter and more skilled than me. Its a strange feeling, but i do like to work with him so far and we both handle the situation like adults. :pimp

Carry on as an employee if you don't know what to do instead. Just thinking you're clever doesn't mean you'll be at all successful in competition with your boss.

That's why he is the boss he was smart enough to hire you.

Do you job extremely well and if the rewards you seek are not forth coming. Then start your own company or find another one where you will be rewarded for your talents.

thanks for the contribution guys... when i look at my boss, i noticed that he try not to outshine his superior. I feel kinda sad that he can't unleash his potential just like how I can't unleash mine...

In the end of the day, whoever has superior management skill will do well in the corporate world... Regardless of how much or little technical skill he has in the field, as long as they know the right way to slave the juniors who are smarter than them, they will be compensated well in long run...

keep quiet and pretend dumb or... if you are really that smart give up the job and start your own business.
