great feature, very helpful. When you have fake nicks and 60 year old men acting like 12 year olds, you know it must be a success.

i think in the long run the rep function will be a positive change around here.
over time it should really balance out and show who the productive and useful members are. If you spend your time pissing on the boards it will show....if you spend time making comments that help it will also show :)

give it some time, it will all settle where it should be in the end

Why was this feature even implemented? It somehow works in other forums, but they have rules. You can not open threads like "post a picture and I will rep you" or similar. Rep is supposed to be given for valuable posts...

Two solutions to admins: Either remove the feature or watch it and have some rules. You can not let threads like "rep me and I will rep you" be, because it ruins the purpose of it.

If you look at other WM boards out there that also have it, you will see the same type of behavior. Both the obsessing about it, and the endless whining about it.

However, the mods on some of those forums have either made a sticky, rule, or an announcement basically telling people it is un-moderated, and to STFU about it. In the end, it has little real value beyond your cyber ego.
