I need your thoughts on Kiev, Ukraine and St.Petersburg, Russia please
Hi All,
Im thinking of going to Kiev/Kyiv, Ukraine or St. Petersburg, Russia with a group of friends in the spring time and wanted to get some feedback and thoughts from anyone here who has been. Id be mainly going to party and hit the night life scene. I know there's hookers there and all that, but is it a good place to just pick up non hooker girls at the clubs without speaking the native language? Is it safe? What are do's and don'ts for these cities? Any feedback would be appreciated. We are not set on either city so any other cities you can recommend would be welcomed. I've been to Prague, Budapest, Hong Kong, Macau, Ibiza, Rio de Janeiro, Vegas, etc....So I've been wanting to hit a Russian or former Soviet country next. All feedback is appreciated. Thanks! |
Need a car sitter while you are away?

why would she bother talking to you at the club if you won't understand her? The women who speak English probably have better things to do than hang out at the clubs :) |
People can travel all over the world. St. Petersburg has beautiful buildings and constructions.

you will pick up plenty of girls...especially if you have a translator with you
might want some security or leave your big watches at home :) |
i've been to both. my fav was Kiev out of the Ukraine. i'd also recommend considering Prague, as it's pretty close by - it would be my favorite place in eastern Europe. language was never all that much of an issue. never had any issues with safety, but yeah, i would dress down a bit.

beautiful girls there, one thing you notice right away, great skin complexion, great eyes and lips, nice legs and somehow the ratio is 10 girls to every 7 guys but take a guide or go with somebody that familiar with the area/people/has close friends in high places, there is a certain roughness beautiful place |

I think the nightlife is probably better in Russia, but if you want to see beauty go to the Ukraine. If I was going to vacation in the East I would hit Yalta.

why? yes you don't want to be embarrassed when they pale in comparison to the Russian bling in Moscow |
usd goes a long way in ukraine, I had taxi driving me 1-2 hours for $10 ;o hot broads everywhere there too (i wish I didn't have gf lol), but it's still far from a safe city... you don't want to be somewhere outside main areas speaking english and changing usd dollars
|
im russian and i strongly suggest you find someone to guide you:thumbsup
i would also go to kiev if i were you:) |
Thanks everyone! Good news is I only own 1 watch my best friend gave to me on my bday several years ago so no issues there. As for the USD and being flashy, Im from Detroit so I know how that all works. Tone it down and don't do anything too flashy to attract the wrong attention, but just enough flash to attract the hot chicks who like Americans with cash :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh. From the sounds of it though it looks like Kiev which was my first choice is the best choice. Keep em coming if you have more thoughts!

Be sure to visit the Kuntz-Kamera of St. Petersburg in your lifetime. It is interesting.

Anyone got any hotel recommendations? I prefer chic W style hotels. Modern with a cool, vibrant and chic style. Any hotels there like that? Also is there a certain area I want to stay in? Im sure its central, but is there an actual district or area name of where'd I probably wanna stay to be close to the action and quick access to shopping, good food, etc...

Kiev was one of the most expensive cities I have ever been to as far as nightlife was concerned but it was a great time.

have fun on your trip, tell chris gfy said hi. |
may-june is the best time to visit Kiev, early spring may be on a cold side
nice restaurant with live jazz on weekend evenings - Deja Vu, near the Big Theater Korona - very cool cafe. Golden Cup - good billiard tables, many other places have good tables too nightlife scene changes every couple of years like in rest of big cities, don't know whats hottest and the best lately. |
