This song was the apex of the Goth club last night, sad as it was.

I'm a huge Gary Numan fan, and the guy is uber cool, once I bought "Exile" the record that contains this song and it has the URL for his official site, ran by himself and his wife (I was shocked). So I wrote him a mail telling how much I enjoyed that record (dunno why, was the first and last time I did that) and out of the blue I got a little box with some merchandising, a really nice hand written letter where he told me he moved to the country with his wife and some personal stuff and a signed copy of Telekon . He also told me he was really happy to have fans in Argentina and asked me for pictures of Buenos Aires to put in the site, which I sent (no idea if he added them).
Anyway, thank you for the thread, I need to find where the hell did I put that letter! :)
There was a special edition of that which had an interview where he talks about basing the concepts upon Phillip K Dick's "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep" (of which the film Blade Runner was based upon)

I have seen him twice in concert and he is still amazing. The last concert was him just playing the whole of Replicas. It was just amazing.

He likes interacting with his fans to the extent that he married one of them.

I love this, too. Fear Factory covered "Cars," and had Gary Numan sing on it and appear in the video:
