Opened a ticket with Choopa 15 days ago...

Hi,

Is it normal for a hosting company to take 15 days and counting to move a dozen sites from a non cPanel setup to cPanel? I'm starting to wonder, this shit is taking waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long.

thoughts?

Migration is a bitch but that some contact would be nice.

yea no doubt, I failed to mention they have updated the ticket a few times basically saying they are working on it with no e.t.a

their support is usually outstanding 10 out of 10 i.m.o, perhaps this process takes longer than I estimated, just seems like a long ass time.

Sounds like a bit long.

yea that's what I was thinking :(

did a simple ticket today, non emergency labelled, answered and solved within 4 minutes.
2 weeks is way to long offcourse:2 cents:

2 weeks is a long time but different setups and stuff can of course offer a virtually unlimited amount of troubles along the way.

When I last moved host, a few years ago, the host I was moving from also did everything htey could to make it a real pain to move out. They blocked my new host's IP, they throttled the throuput level, changed passwords unexpectedly, and so on. They were not especially fast either when I demanded help to fix issues like unblocking, new passwords and so forth.

Ask to see if there is anything you can do to make it go faster or if they have specific questions about a script or so which you could answer fast for them. Another thing to take into consideration, are they doing the switch for free or do you pay for the move? If they do it without cost to you, I guess one can accept that it takes a bit longer.

Nevertheless, 15 days should earn you a decent update at least.

That's way too long.

SykkBoy 11-02-2010 09:05 AM

Choopa is normally really fast to reply to tickets. What I do if I feel they aren't moving fast enough is get them on the phone. It is often easier for them to explain any complications or delays via a phone call than a ticket system. It at least keeps you in their minds...

Ouch, yea the host I just left (moku) got all upset with me and told me I had 24 hours to cancel my account after I notified him I would be changing hosts lol. I can see what you mean, these ppl get butt hurt about that stuff lol.

Stacks Banned for Life 11-02-2010 01:17 PM

choopa sucks

baddog 11-02-2010 02:21 PM

What kind of panel did you have before?

webair 11-02-2010 02:26 PM

Have you tried calling them? They are usually pretty responsive...

kowalsky 11-02-2010 02:49 PM

Choopa sucks, but the support used to be good. Since I moved to a new company my life is much better. Consider do the same...

Slappin Fish 11-02-2010 03:07 PM

Average time to answer my tickets...maybe 4 minutes tops.

Nothing I've ever thrown at them they didn't handle.

Overall the best host I've dealt with.

no panel :\

Stacks Banned for Life 11-03-2010 04:45 AM

They updated me telling me that 4 out of 24 sites are "GOOD -- seems migrate-able"

So basically on day 16 I find out only four sites are functional on my account upgrade to cPanel on Choopa. WOW.

What the FUCK Choopa.

Machete_ 11-03-2010 04:47 AM

15 days is a bit overkill
