This is right, with google keywords people need to use the "exact" match option which is available to the left after the initial results have been populated.

Most people leave the setting on "Broad".

I won't go into too much detail on the difference of these results as it will be a very long winded read, all people need to try and remember is that the "exact" match option needs to be used:thumbsup

Like others have mentioned you need to choose [Exact] for the Match Type when using Google AdWords Keyword Tool.

Jesus fucking Christ...this is the 3rd time in a week people posting names here have had to be educated about this. EXACT MATCH ONLY, DON'T USE BROAD! This is not a new tool and still people are oblivious on how to use it...I just don't get it.

lucPL I owe you an apology. Though you didnt offer any support to your comment, you were right about the local/global search results.


$5 Submission - you cant imagine how many times I clicked on "Exact Match" on the left column, to still get the same results of 20,400,000 local. I found the problem, and it had to do with my touch pad, and how I would inadvertently uncheck the box. The cursor sort of jerks/bounces around on one of the laptops. Using another computer, I was able to keep the checkmark in place.

Here it comes --> I FAILED :helpme BIG TIME on this one.

THEY STILL DO. They are extremely hard to come by, but over time we have found a few of them, and I've gone back to double check the results.
