Also tea party backed over 30+ minority candidates, some of which won.

It doesn't matter. They'll get drunk on power and greed just like the rest of them. It's almost inevitable. They are both seductive and neither is lacking inside the beltway.

It won't be long until the lobbyists get to them...

I heard Karl Rove was taking credit for it, or getting credit. I could've sworn Sarah Palin and the Tea Party were the reason for it.

I don't really follow american politics that closely, but didn't the tea party randomly appear over the last 36 months? That's pretty stellar to have gained ground so quickly.
