notarized st.kitts docs

When you go to the notary, what exactly are you telling them you want done to the docs?
There is no such word as 'notarized' here really...
Am i asking the notary to make a copy and stamp it saying it is the original?
Am i asking the notary to stamp the original that its original?
Am i asking the notary to verify I am me?

What exactly am i after?

They'd probably charge $50 per document for that too

Oracle Porn 11-10-2010 04:08 AM

Did you try sending them without notarization? I heard it worked for some people

k0nr4d 11-10-2010 05:44 AM

I just went and ask notary for certified copies. They were $3 each...hopefully this'll be what they wanted.

ThumbLord 11-10-2010 06:02 AM

yep k0nr4d certified copies as in copies from the originals stamped by a notary is what they want.

Davy 11-10-2010 08:41 AM

You ask them to stamp the copy stating it is identical to the original.
Try to make them stamp it on the front. Leave place on the copy for the statement.

I went to the municipality office. It's the cheapest option here.
They stamped it on the back, which makes the copies worthless for digital transfer.
Luckily, the back was shining through when I scanned the docs. It was accepted by SKNAB.

PS: Why are you sending your docs so late?

My epass account as reg'd to my parents address and i had to wait for original utility bill to arrive in the mail.

Chris 11-10-2010 08:51 AM

i dont even get the concept of being a notary

sounds like a hustle to me - anytime ive had to get it done the person never even looks at what im having them do

they just use that damn stamp and go about their day lol

minicivan 11-10-2010 08:57 AM

Notaries in Europe and especially Eastern Europe are a bit different usually than in other parts of the world. In this case, the function of the notary is simply to certify that its you that signed the documents - meaning you showed that person ID, you then signed the document in front of them and they then notarize the document (stamp/seal - sign it). In the US a notary basically only does this where in Eastern Europe a notary is almost an attorney verifying the legality of the document etc etc.

tiger 11-10-2010 09:17 AM

I just sent them photo copies and they approved everything pretty quickly.

Varion 11-10-2010 09:32 AM

Konrad, I notarized my passport and ID. It's impossible to notarize an utility bill in Poland (no signature, no notarize). I sent them to SKNB without translation and after a few weeks they unblocked my card.

Slappin Fish 11-10-2010 09:53 AM

Need to get around to doing it, anybody notarized in Thailand already?

Konrad, I haven't done no notarize crap, but sent same docs as i already sent 2 times earlier to Epass on 15th oct. A week ago they replied that they got it and it will be reviewed soon. On 30th Oct I was told that they are currently reviewing it. Yesterday they approved and unblocked my card and it works like charm.

Imo no need to notarize, this is pure bullshit. Just send them proper docs and wait patiently. :2 cents:

You need a witness. They are your witness. They also do fairly complicated things like closings on homes in some states.

They actually made a certified copy of everything no problem. It cost 7PLN per page so just under $3

flashfire 11-12-2010 01:48 PM

I sent mine in over a week ago...how long did it take you guys? still haven't heard a thing

Jon Oso 11-12-2010 01:58 PM

Most banks have free notary services for their account holders.

I happen to have quite a few friends who are notaries so it's easier just to go to them.

FWIW, most notaries even in banks don't care what the document says, all they're doing is acting as a witness that you indeed signed it.
