I doubt there will be much more people attending than there was before. If any. The registration being free I am sure was helpfull for some especially people who only live a couple hours away or less. But, the cost of registration really was just a small part of the entire cost to attend. It still needs to be productive and offer a good ROI or most people still wont go, even if sponsors offered to give them free hotel rooms. Well with the exception of the people who value partying more than doing business.

RyuLion 11-14-2010 04:52 PM

This will be my 8th year attending..damn..

It should be way better. The fact that i can go to AVN and internext all roughly in the same spot at the same time, makes it that much better.

Big time kudos to whoever came up with that idea.:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

eroticsexxx 11-14-2010 09:35 PM

Thanks for the heads up. Just gotta book my hotel and airfare now.

KillerK 11-14-2010 09:38 PM

Great job on making it free, hotel really isn't a major cost.

Airfare would be the most.

Food is super cheap.

Jakez 11-14-2010 11:48 PM

Is this for the Hollywood event? If not is the Hollywood one going to be the same deal?

And does anyone have an estimate on how many non-webmasters will be there partying their ass off? I know when I went every friend I told about it said they would do anything to go but I know the fee would keep them out, what's going to stop a ton of people from just getting a hotel nearby and partying for free?

It's vegas... There will be tons of people there partying anyway. Just do your biz, and the people partying will not affect you. I don't understand your logic.

My thoughts entirely.

The show should be opened to surfers to get attendance and exhibitors back to the old days. A bunch of sponsors sitting and "networking" with a handful of affiliates who can afford it in 2010 isn't going to save the show. We need customers more than anything today.

We used to do the show and tie it into our Xmas vacation to see my Mum in Orange County. Doubt we did any business we couldn't of done online.

Er...

Why would you want to allow consumers in a B2B show, when there is a successful B2C show at the same time in the same hotel? It's called AEE.

You do understand the difference between B2B and B2C? Why on earth would Mojohost want to try and sell hosting to surfers? Why would EMerchantPay want to try and sell merchant accounts to surfers?

Are you drunk posting?

RyuLion 11-15-2010 09:55 AM

This will be the end of Internext.

The last time I went to Xbiz in Vegas, I met more people who had no connection to the industry than I did people who worked in the industry. Outsiders decided it was worth it pay the fee to get in, hang out with porn stars, watch a bikini contest, and get some free food. You also see a lot of this in Vegas at Internext too - people want into the big parties.

Making it free will just make it ten times worse - and sponsors will quickly grow tired of paying tens of thousands of dollars to hold events for people who aren't in the industry.

Yeap.

So, I hope they have someone assigned to review each registration AND they should make it a requirement that you should a biz card, and maybe even have match your badge Co. name when a person picks up their badge..

CaptainHowdy 11-15-2010 10:59 AM

Now I need free airplane tickets...

Agent 488 11-15-2010 11:01 AM

logical progression is that they pay people to go next year.

luckily this year is almost free for me. Free flight, hotel and registration. Some of my food is comped at the casino, but the rest is not all that expensive.

If you want to stay for free, or pretty close to it, put $50 or $100 into a slot machine and play for a bit. You will be surprised how quickly you get comps.

When I was in AC a few months back, I was waiting for my brother and his 2 friends to finish up a poker tournament in the Borgata. I put $100 in a $1 slot machine and played for a while, but left with $0. I didn't care about winning I was just wasting some time.

Few weeks later I get mailed offers with comped weekends... weekends! they are normally pretty expensive, $200+/nt but for my $100 slot play sure paid off :winkwink:
