College Football Fans...

Can someone explain why Oregon is #1?

They've beat nobody outside their conference that is ranked.

The hardest game was Stanford that they beat, and Stanford only beat Arizona that was ranked. Arizona atleast beat Iowa..

KrissyElise 11-15-2010 01:20 PM

Boise State should be #1 by far. I don't care that they don't have the most difficult schedule. They have proved day in and day out that they are the #1 team.

If you don't think they are throw them in the ring with big dogs and you'll see them fight.
They beat anyone thrown at them.

If people are sick of hearing that "BSU deserves a chance" just give them a chance and if BSU fails you can say they don't deserve anymore chances.

Oregon is a pretty good team, better than TCU and Auburn. Boise State has beat both TCU and Oregon.

I would also like to say that Cam Newton is a cocky motherfucker.

Whenever ESPN shows him he's grinning his face off. Least humble person I have ever seen. LaMichael James is a great guy as is Kellen Moore.

NaughtyRob 11-15-2010 01:21 PM

Auburn should be #1.

KrissyElise 11-15-2010 01:36 PM

Auburn is not that great and Cam Newton is a cocky bastard.

He 'bought' a laptop for $100 from someone then when he heard that the cops were coming he threw it out a window.... If he didn't steal it he wouldn't have thrown it out the window.

He has been accused of cheating.

His family was trying to sell him to schools.

How sketchy is all of that. Standup guy if you ask me!

Auburn would be nothing without Cam Newton. If he was any other player they would have suspended him already.

XSV 11-15-2010 01:48 PM

Wonder if Cam "bought" the laptop from Jason Masoli. ;-)

There's a guy that blew it big time at Oregon, would have been in the running for the Heisman, idiot.

Go Ducks.

Slutboat 11-15-2010 01:50 PM

Oregon has the most innovative offense I have EVER seen in College Football (and I'm a Trojan fan).

Oregon is the highest scoring team in the nation (averaging nearly 60 points per game until this sat)

Boise State doesn't deserve to be in the top 10 (they play teams that couldn't beat a good high school)

Auburn may be a little better than Oregon...we'll see in the championship game...

Oregon and Boise State in the title game.

TCLGirls 11-15-2010 02:10 PM

Boise State beat OREGON 2 years in a row.

Oregon doesn't want to play Boise State anymore because they are afraid of losing 3 times in a row...that is from someone in the program. Oregon would now rather schedule lower division D1AA FCS schools like Portland State lol

Slutboat 11-15-2010 02:16 PM

people who think the records of past years apply to present teams aren't super knowledgeable about college football.

I have watched both Boise State and Ore all season - The Ducks look a lot better.

OMG Jim 11-15-2010 02:21 PM

Sorry to say but I have to agree with the fact that Boise State is still the team to beat.

Let's not forget what happened to Oklahoma :)

Problem with the system now is if Oregon and Auburn run the table then it looks like Boise State gets screwed again out of the title game.:Oh crap

If you've spent any time watching college games this season and look at the differences in schedules you may want to take a look at Wisconsin. :thumbsup

Time for at least a 4 team playoff for the NCAA National Championship but an 8 team tournament would be even sweeter. That would still leave 20 to 30 bowls games to fill the holiday schedule.

Just my :2 cents:

How do you think pre-season rankings/poll get constructed? It's all based on the previous season. And those pre-season rankings do effect the BCS rankings. Oregon went to the Rose Bowl last year and lost. Just making it to the Rose Bowl helped Oregon's pre-season ranking, and thus helped them in the BCS ranking.

Furthermore, if Oregon is confident that it can beat Boise State this year, why did Oregon avoid playing Boise State this year? Oregon had an open date when another team canceled. Boise was willing to play Oregon again. But instead of scheduling a re-match, Oregon scheduled lower division team Portland State.

NaughtyRob 11-15-2010 02:30 PM

Has nothing to do with how high they should be ranked. I am a Penn State fan but its my humble opinion that Auburn should be #1 and Oregon a close #2.

Boise St. is a good program there is no doubt about it, but have you actually watched an Oregon game this year? I've never seen Boise St. show anywhere near that level of offensive firepower.

I would love to see them play the Ducks...Oregon would beat them. I would put a lot of money on it.

I would bet that Boise State would win for the 3rd time.

Oregon is afraid to play Boise State.
I have watched many Oregon games. I think Oregon is a great team but I also think Boise State is a better team.

I have seen every Oregon game this year. Yes I admit, player for player, Oregon is a better more talented team than Boise State. But I still believe that Boise State would beat Oregon again if they played this year. Oregon plays nervous against Boise State. And that's why they would lose again if they played each other.

KrissyElise 11-15-2010 03:55 PM

If Boise State gets robbed of the title game and has to play in a bowl like the fiesta again they will be in second place for longest NCAA Division 1 Football Winning Streak by the end of next season.

FreeHugeMovies 11-15-2010 09:34 PM

Who the HELL has Boise State played? Are you kidding me with your dumb ass comments?

They have one quality win over VT who lost to fucking JAMES MADISON and they play in the TERRIBLE ACC! Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME??????????????

If you want to play with the big boys, start traveling TWICE a year out of conference and don't expert a return home game.

SEC 4 Life

DateDoc 11-15-2010 09:44 PM

BSU is a legitimate team and they will play in the championship game if Oregon or Auburn falter. Ask any of the top 20 teams if they want to play Boise. Boise has tried to play the big schools in their none conference games but most have been rejected by the other team. Boise beat Oregon last year and VA Tech this year. Those are the only teams that have stepped up. When they played Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl they beat them too. BSU vs Oregon or Auburn would be a good game.

Slutboat 11-15-2010 09:45 PM

The ONLY reason Boise St. is ranked is based on a winning streak that would NEVER have happened had they been playing real teams all year long. They are a good squad but it's crazy talk to say they deserve a title game.

What's that got to do with anything. Besides they have 2 titles in the last 5 years what has YOUR team done in that time? Unless you can beat that STFU.

Slutboat 12-01-2010 12:38 AM

If Oregon and Auburn meet up in the Championship game - the two best teams in the nation will go at it... I like the ducks but I wouldn't lay much cash on them.

Well Boise State lost, so they are out of BCS contention...that's how the cookie crumbles. Putting them in the Kraft Hunger Bowl is sort of joke though. I think they deserve a better bowl game...but I also think the whole bowl set-up is a sham.
