Where can I file a complaint about DomainNameSystems?

They are holding my domains hostage by not providing EPP codes for months now. There must be a way to put pressure on those assholes.

CyberHustler 11-19-2010 08:59 AM

Good luck with that...

TheSwed 11-19-2010 09:14 AM

what's the reason for the hold?
are they a Enom reseller?

Trax 11-19-2010 09:16 AM

there is no reason. they dont want people to move domains away from them, forcing them to renew with their piece of shit company. that is why it is impossible to get your EPP code.

woj 11-19-2010 09:23 AM

try icann?

Okay.. just send a mail to the company they are resllers for and tell them about the problem.

That use to helps

I have moved a domain from DomainNameSystems with no problems at all. They took like one or two weeks to provide the Auth Codes, but all was ok. Maybe try calling them. Good luck.

Trax 11-19-2010 09:45 AM

just found out the owners name is Gord Jeske
now I have got something to work with

Trax 11-19-2010 09:54 AM

actually he has many names... two possible "Gerd Jeske" on facebook
this is getting interesting

CYF 11-19-2010 10:39 AM

you can always file a complaint with icann.

u-Bob 11-19-2010 11:09 AM

Tell them you'll report them to ICANN.

You must be the only one. Do a GFY search, there are several threads about domainnamesystems refusing to release domains, refusing to provide the epp codes,...

They are on more shitlists than Chris Mallick....

You could make forum posts and write bad reviews. You can write to DomainNameSystems, but perhaps they will hide negative things about their company.

I do remember i had some problems getting my domain, as in they did not first respond to the request for the Auth Codes, but i emailed again and in one or two weeks they sent the codes.

Trax 11-21-2010 03:55 AM

can they seriously request a DL copy just to get an EPP code?

Domain Transfer and Registrant Validation:

Please find following our policy regarding validation of domain
transfer requests, effective immediately:

1. All domain transfer requests will require a positive identification
process. This means in order to remove the registrar adminstrative
domain lock you will be required to fax one of the following:

- a legible copy of a current drivers license in the name of the
domain registrant
- a legible copy of a current passport in the name of the domain registrant
- a letter from the corporation signed by a senior officer on
corporate letterhead, if the registrant is a corporation.

additionally, a letter outlining the domain name to be transferred.

Our fax # is: 1.416.946.1794

Once these positive identification processes have been completed, and
the transfer request identified as bonafide and initiated by the
domain registrant , the transfer will be allowed to proceed.

This new policy and requirement has become a part of your account
operating and domain registration agreement, again, effective
immediately.

EPP codes will be provided again during normal business hours
commencing November 22, 2010.
