Paysite Owner, your expert advise is needed!
 

Hi,

I currently operate 4 exclusive standalone paysites that are not linked to each other (each requires its own membership)
I am thinking of setting them up under one program that will allow members to access all of them with 1 membership.

Here is the dilema:

I have a good amount of members who have multiple memberships to 2-3 of my sites, combining the sites under one roof will have them switch to only 1 membership, on the other hand it will probably create better members retention for the long run.

If you operate a paysite or an affiliate program your advise on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You really need to start thinking outside the box.. Many other ways to do the same basic thing and make more for yourself while delivering them more as well.

Perhaps you should do what your members want. Somehow, you could try to find out whether members prefer one membership.

also, consider the revenue potential if you merge them compared to if you keep the old members in seperate website.

It's safe to say that the members will want all the content for 1 low priced membership :)
The question is will it be more profitable for me or will they just download the content from all sites and cancel on the first month...

another thing to consider is to keep the sites seperate and allow people to join them individually as you do now and set up a new "umbrella" site alla the mega-pass-tour thing all the big guys are doing - that way the surfers with a current membership stays put and you get a new avenue for surfers to join your site..

Or another idea off the bat, not sure if its worth the effort but might be something you can do that math for, set it up so that you can join 1 site for the normal price and then either upsell the other on the inside for a lower monthly fee, or set it up so that when you join you get the option of joining 1 site for (just examples) $29,95 monthly, 2 sites for $39,95 monthly, 3 sites for $44,95 or 4 sites for $49,95 a month..

This last one might confuse surfers so you need to make sure to explain it in detailes..

I think it should be an upsell. $5 extra getaccess to the entire network. something like that.

FACT: I was online for over a year with five seperate, stand-alone sites. Some of them did fairly well but not great. Days would go by without a single sale.

Then, in January of 2009, I created 'Mister Peabody World' and linked them all together. Since that day - January 15, 2009 - there has not been a single day when I have not made a sale.

Now, almost 2 years later: 22 sites and counting, all linked together, dozens and dozens of sales a day.

You do the math.

BUT: You can merely "link 'em together" and that's that, and that will get you....somewhere. Be creative, come up with a HOOK - even a lame-ass one starring a little green guy in an overcoat - and it's cha-ching city.

Screw that. Do hidden cross sales on all your sites and bill everybody for all 4. Bill the fuck out of them until they hoist the Jolly Roger, cancel their credit cards and head over to the Torrent sites.

I Advise you to first check the numbers.
So the math and find out how many of your members are registeref for more then 1 site.
Then you will have a better understanding if combining the sites is a good idea
