Without seeing the real results, there are few things that I can see now.
1. The authority links to number one is higher, than number 5.
2. Number 9 does have more authority links, however not all authority links are the same. I still need to see them to conclude my theory, that number one has a better authority links. I am almost sure I am right about it. I hope this helps.

Taking a quick look, it looks like the other sites are information about gluten free foods, while #1 actually has gluten free foods on it, so it's a better match - it may have better deep links because of this too - that relates to 'foods'. When you phrase your search into a question, Wiki comes up first - as the person is looking for information rather than foods then.

i was thinking the same, but i figured 114 bleg would blow away 20 regardless. esp when considering the comparable # of indexed pages and the # of blp? and to be 8 spots down.

i also thought this, but ms thinks neither url has the keyword in it, based on the url column data.

dyna mo 11-20-2010 04:08 PM

what i really don't get is how #6 beats #9, wow.

Tempest 11-20-2010 04:20 PM

The first 2 words of the phrase are in the domain and then of course if the content, backlinks etc are more relative then that would be why.

i think there is a lot of truth to this, even though none of the sites have the exact key word, the #1 spot has 2 of the 3 words in the domain, but that doesn't account for the #6 spot. any thoughts on that?

moeloubani 11-20-2010 04:27 PM

because #1 gives people what they are searching for - gluten free foods

when you type in big tits do you want the article that comes up describing what big tits are or are you looking to see some big tits? same deal

Agent 488 11-20-2010 04:28 PM

study the sites linking to them.

seeandsee 11-20-2010 04:51 PM

Because big G algoritham says so

B.Barnato 11-20-2010 05:31 PM

SEO gurus never give up information freely. The way to get an SEO guru to speak is to get him drunk.

TeenSluts 11-20-2010 06:06 PM

What site produces that chart?

It's the program http://www.marketsamurai.com/

The search engine rules are complicated. It's hard to figure out exactly why the ranking is the way it is.

exactly. based on those rankings it appears a partial keyword phrase in the url counts for a lot & .gov/.edu backlinks aren't as precious as they are made out to be.

the celiac site ranking is confounding, it's all about gluten free, it has relevant backlinks, at least all the ones i've researched.

From what I read here earlier I think the lack of powertags could be an issue.

TeenCat 11-20-2010 10:05 PM
