If they hold onto it for a couple years, they probably be able to flip it for a tidy $2mil profit. The question is, who will finally have a development plan to monetize such a huge purchase?

Domains on this level are excellent long-term investmens, as their values pretty much do not correlate with other assets. It is an interesting situation as the value of this name as passive long-term investment may be greater than any development value.

The thing is if they did develop a site and it was unable to make a decent sum then the domain name would get devalued ,so therefore it would be a better idea just to sit on it hoping they can flip it for a profit.

I think if you have 13 million to buy a domain, you could probably afford a half-way decent SEO or at least a couple of fiverr gigs.
