Google Keyword tool question

when using Google Keyword tool to find your keywords, do you use Large, [Exact] or "Expression" ?

What would be the best way if I want to aim for a specific keyword?

myself, as a surfer, I ner use [ ] or " " when doing a search

Wich one in your opinion gives the best keyword results?

I think exact gives good results

I sometimes use " ", but don't use [ ] either. I did a test with Google and "Hardcore Porn", both with " ", [ ] and with out. Using the square brackets returned a few thousand more results than " " did. What do square brackets mean to Google? I know it means "exact", but exactly what? Why / how could it return more results than just looking for the phrase?

Also, sometimes Google's AdWords Opportunities, New Keyword Suggestions gives some wacky suggestions. For instance, based on analysis of our site and keywords used to reach us it recommended "Transformers Movie", Christmas stuff and various kiddie related keywords? Naturally we did not take that advice. Has any one had similar results?

exact,
n broad

both gives idea.

I notice with exact, there is more competition and less searches. but how, does this affect SEO? Lets say I use the anchor "free porn", shouldn't I eventually end up ranked for broad and phrase too ?

free porn
free porn videos
free porn video download?

Or should it be the other way around? My anchor should be a longer keyword so I end up ranked for the shorter ones eventually?

"free porn" is phrase so anything along it will trigger, except for broad matchs like:

porn not free

I agree, "Exact" is the real deal.

anchor text "free porn"
in title "free porn video download"

then it works.

or in other ways.,

anchor text "free porn" and then non hyperlink text "video download"
this also works great.

target mainly for high value keywords like free porn dont target long keywords.

free porn
free porn videos
free porn video download

above 3 are diff, keyword. choose 1 main and 2 others as supportive.

I think most web surfers search without quotes "".

Unless it's one of those phrases that return irrelevant search results, people then search with keywords in quotes. That's, if they're Google savvy.

Competition-wise the keyword phrase "free porn video download" is highly competitive even for all in title searches.

free porn video download
About 99,200,000 results

"free porn video download"
About 1,670,000 results

allintitle:"free porn video download"
About 25,500 results

Definitely research for, high search, low competition phrases, and optimize pages accordingly.
