wtf? WMP doesnt play ANY format out of the blue
 

wtf?! someone a clue? i have two user accts in xp (and one admin of coz) ... wmp plays just fine any format on admin and one user acct - in the other user acct all i get is "cannot play bla, no filter found, format not supported yada" :error :disgust :mad: what the heck went wrong? :helpme thx in advance for help :thumbsup

Do you have codec packs installed? Perhaps they were installed under one user account and not for the other?

That's why I like Win 7. Support for basically every format out there out of the box, once you add Haali Media Splitter. No more stupid codec packs.

If you are looking for a decent codec pack for XP, try shark007. That is what I used before I switched all my machines to Win7.

nono, all worked fine until this morn ... admin acct = all fine whereas the user acct = no go ... i then created a new user acct and wmp plays all fine ... just not in the old user acct ... *hairpulling* lol

It sucks that not all formats can be played.
