Monetize my damn sidebars

I've been in this business about 18 months. I've got a blog network of about 50 sites. All handwritten, all updated. Most all my traffic is seo, with at least 20% of my sites ranking in the top 10 serps and a few at #1 for their KW.

Most of my sites target solo models in the plump/bbw/big natural niches. I dont have alot of traffic but as it is all very targeted seo traffic, it converts very well and I'm making a little coin. Not enough to retire on yet, but enough to convince me, there is money to be made.

I cant find ANYTHING to convert in my sidebars. If I could find some programs that would actually convert, I think I could see a significant income jump in it.

I've tried bbw dating, webcams, fleshlights with no real luck.
I've got juicy ads up on a few sites to try them out, but I'm not really impressed with the results yet.

Anyone got any guidance or suggestions here?

try targeted cam ads to whats on your blog.

Try creating a text box widget and putting some text link ads. I think some people might shy away from typical banners and such on the sidebar.

Link to other sales pages / blog posts offsite but use regular old blue text links. Banners suck and are ignored.

Highlighted what seems (to me) to be the key issue. Not that pushing that niche is the issue, but for sidebar you need something like a generic or megasite, but as of now hardly anyone is doing this right. i could write a whole rant about this but i wont :1orglaugh

are you pushing Score? Bitties?

Banners don't completely suck they just have to hit the mark DEAD ON. Can't put BBW banners on a busty site and vice versa.

Also as someone said try cam ads that fits your niche but again, it has to hit the mark.

Make sure to try different sponsors for each type not just one or two. Mix it up and see who does well, big and small sponsors. Don't chase waterfalls ($500 PPS promos or what the "bros" tell you to use). Don't use any promo materials which plaster the url all over. Surfers distrustful of ads will type it in rather than click. It happens more than most think.

I don't think banners convert anymore.I don't what does but they don't....I'm gonna replace all of mine with something.

diet products should do well.

Frasier 11-28-2010 06:01 PM

Thanks for all the feedback, it's appreciated.

I'm going back to re read all the comments again to make sure my ego isnt telling me I've tried all of it before when I really havnt. But I think I have

None of the big cam programs hit the niche in the right way, the niche dating sites that apply are not working either.

While my traffic is good quality (I'm converting scorecash at 1:299 this month - which is about normal for me) - I cant see ppl lining up to by ad spots on my sites.

dicksman42 11-28-2010 06:25 PM

I think that you and I are in the same spot.I have really targetted traffic, but the numbers aren't supporting it.I'm thinking of finding that one sponsor and just saying fuck it.

I hear that one too.

do you have mainstream blogs?

icymelon 11-28-2010 11:58 PM

thing thats tough about blogs is that they dont get a ton of traffic so its tough to really run an accurate test.
