camera footage of guy keying my car...
http://demo1.mechbunny.com/video.avi
Seriously. That's what the camera caught... Why did they even fucking bother installing these things? I could be jumping on the roof of the car in the foreground holding a giant sign with my name written on it and I would be unidentifyable :1orglaugh |
who s camera was that?
|
Sucks. With that quality you're better off not even having seen it. Looking at something that blocky is only a taunt. I agree, pointless to even have a camera at all in that case.

Its a closed, gated apartment complex with 24/7 gaurd and 20 security cameras, all of which are completely fucking useless.
|
Resolution is appalling.
A lot of the home systems don't seem much better than that - fuck all use in a burglary. |
wht a tease, thats awful quality, did the guy just walk down the street and key all the cars in a line?

people like this make me VERY angry.

what car do you drive?
|
damn man sorry about what happened to you. I agree that the video is more of a taunt then a deterrent though :(
|
I had this happen before so installed my own cameras. You can even put one in the car (covertly otherwise some might want to break in to steal it!) and have it send via a wireless relay (there are other options too) if you want. As long as the current draw is reasonable and your battery good it's usually fine overnight.
|
Camera FAIL... but realistically it's not like the guy would get caught if the quality was any better..

I had the same problem with a recent break-in. Have direct snapshots of the guy staring into the camera and still of no use.
Here he is putting on a second glove in my garage so he left no fingerprints. He only had one glove on when he came in, so he stole one of mine. http://i53.tinypic.com/293f03b.jpg |

Insurance covered your losses at least, right? |

I think these thieves usually come from the larger city that is about an hour away, or from the Indian reserve that is near by it. Pretty much impossible to catch them unless you are able to get one of their friends to turn them in for a reward. |
My phone records better video... :1orglaugh

Looks like a game of Tetris.

My cameras had motion detectors too that would email me, but there were too many false positives so I couldn't have them sent to my cell phone or it would be ringing all day. Hopefully this alarm helps. It has a 110 db outdoor siren too, but my neighbours are about 1/4 mile away, and they don't like me. |
Wow thats awful. Those are the type of cameras that are installed to increase your rent because now you feel secure.

even grainy like that theres always clues. Watch close at the beginning looks like he did a double take at the first house as he enters the screen ( not the glitch), almost like he walked back and forth for a second " looking to see if anyone was watching" , this tells you he probably knows the car he is going to key several cars before he gets to it.. the only way he would know that, is if your car is the target , i.e. this isn't random , and most likely a neighbour or he wouldnt be that concerned if anyone was watching. also i dont know the street layout but watch closely at the end , he walks past your car , stops for a sec keys it , continues on down middle of road, goes behing white thing behind your car , re-appears on top left of screen, goes between 2 houses, that doesnt look like the end of the street yet, it looks like he is going to the second to last house on the top left

We don't really care for our immediate next door neighbors, particularly not the ones directly across the street, but when I caught the guy outside our house after dark for the second time Wednesday I met with each of them personally to make them aware of the situation. I pretty much told him he's no longer welcome on our property and told the neighbors if they see him lurking around just to be safe and call the police. Short of that I'm not sure what else I can do. Really my biggest worry, and it may be an unreasonable one, is that someone will break in while we're away and harm our dogs. We have two small dogs and they can be super yappy at strangers. I don't think anyone would ham them just to harm them but maybe to silence them wile in the house :( |
damn man, i hoped for ya that the footage was better, damn sucks to have your car key'd
