What sorts of weapons have you fired?

I used to be a small arms instructor years ago, so I've fired all sorts of things.
M72 was fun to shoot.

nikki99 11-29-2010 12:53 PM

I have a weapon under my panties

quiet 11-29-2010 12:54 PM

M16, M60, Uzi, Ak-47, tommy gun, various handguns, and threw several grenades. that was all during a week in Cambodia lol. my fav was the AK, the most crazy was the M60. grenades were the scariest.

RebelR 11-29-2010 12:56 PM

I fired something called "the Saw" in vegas which was cool. It was point the laser at the target and make a big hole, and a few others. But mostly.. shotgun, and .22 and a crossbow. But that's about it

Jon Oso 11-29-2010 12:59 PM

I've owned a couple different handguns and fired several others. By far the most accurate for me and the most fun (along with the loudest) was the FN 5.7 ... planning on picking one up when I feel I have a need for it. Expensive to shoot though compared to a 9mm or .45

ottopottomouse 11-29-2010 01:00 PM

A paintball gun.

Damn fine (and deadly) handgun.

Picking up a Springfield XDm within the month.

DirtyDanza 11-29-2010 01:02 PM

easier for me to name shit I have not fired than stuff I have.....

I have not fired a 50 from a heli in combat.....

quiet 11-29-2010 01:04 PM

oh yeah, i also fired an rpg in the mountains there. that was nuts.

Kenny B! 11-29-2010 01:09 PM

The only time I've fired anything other than lousy employees was at a gun range in Vegas 5 years ago. Sure was fun, we were able to try our a few pistols and a machine gun. I have no idea what they were, I'm not much of a gun person.

AK47 is the best thing I have fired from.

P.S. I was training in a pentathlon section when I was a boy, so I closely familiar with bullet guns since 11 y.o.

I put about 250 rounds through a S&W MP 9mm and couldn't get a tight enough grouping for my liking. First try putting rounds through the FN and it was tight enough for me to be comfortable with.

It was funny though, those rounds put holes in paper the size of a .22, but I'm sure they will cause more considerable damage with a more solid target.

I shot a few compacts too but with how tall I am and the size of my hands I couldn't hang on to it to be accurate at all.

We have similar entertainment services in Moscow. For money you can try in action almost any weapon you can imagine.

im not so sure about the proportion damage... the FN is basically a hand held assault rifle. The bullets are more likely sting, pierce and go through rather than say a 40 mag of hollows which will split up and tear shit up inside.

Not that that is my concern with having a handgun. jUst food for though on the ammunition at hand...

RyuLion 11-29-2010 01:30 PM

I fired a tank once.

I can honestly say, that at 41 years of age, I have never fired any weapon at all, above the strength of a 'BB' gun as a kid...

Vendzilla 11-29-2010 01:45 PM

flint lock pistols 69 caliber
22. 25. 32. 38. 3.57mag. 9mm, 40, 44, 45, 45.70, 50 in pistol
AR-15, 12 gauge, 10 gauge, 8 gauge, 20 gauge, 410(pistol and rifle)
model 1900 Gatling, M79 grenade launcher, M14, 30.06
those are the ones i can remember

scuba steve 11-29-2010 01:47 PM

death machine

Matyko 11-29-2010 02:10 PM

besides water pistol: nothing.. i was raised to stay away from weapons and i follow this tradition when raising my daughters.

CDSmith 11-29-2010 02:19 PM

I've fired everything from small handguns like the glock, wather ppk, etc, to hunting rifles, to sniper rifles, to MP5's, M16's, AK47's, all manner of thrown grenades to RPGs and the M79, all the way up to driving and firing tanks..... all done in PC games of course.

In reality, while I've been around guns and rifles all my life, I have only actually shot very few, mostly a few pellet guns. And once when I was in Montreal many years ago there was an exhibit at Man and his World where I took the opportunity to fire an actual laser rifle. it was pretty cool. No visible beam like on Star Trek or anything, but still cool

The Heron 11-29-2010 03:48 PM

I just fired my .270 yesterday to take down a white-tail deer. Gonna be some good stew tomorrow!

suesheboy 11-29-2010 03:53 PM

Nothing bigger than a 50mm and no fully automatics.

I carry an XD subcompact or a full size XDM every day but want to buy a LCR as a BUG or just a mouse gun for my pocket better than my .25 Barrera and more reliable than my PPK.

I am now choosing between the desert eagle micro and the rugger. Anyone have any feedback?

Did you kill people of just shooting for "fun"? I'm asking this because a classmate of my wife (I was almost a friend with that guy) was served in Chechnya in the beginning of 90's. He was a machine gunner and he killed ten's of people on the battle field. You know, he was never proud of the weapon he used to shoot, and he wasn't so happy to speak about it like you. Never.

So, my question is. How many people have you killed when you where a "Navy soldier"? Is it was just a fun game like in sports (I was a sportsman and shot the paper shooting marks too) or you were a REAL soldier? Not a sportsman clown like me, but a real killer in the name of your country?

Ditto although most recently, I got out Dad's BREN and popped of a few magazines.

Tam 11-29-2010 05:04 PM

I had never shot a gun in my life until I was forced to take ROTC in my Senior Yr od H.S. because I had come back in mid term and nothing else was available.... so here I am in this class I wanted no part of and was taken to the shooting range where I had a gun put in my hand and said shoot it at that target. I won the trophy which pissed every guy in there off that had been in that stupid class for 4 years..... collected my trophy while laughing in their faces. That was a 22 Rifle. lol

I have since shot many guns, but still don't care for them at all. 44Mag, MY gun is a 38 Special, and have shot a 30/30, SKS, and I know I am writing some of these wrong..... I am not a gun guru at all. and a ton more, just because my husband would get them and call me a pussy if I didn't shoot them...... but he stopped that after I out shot them all. lmao

I own them solely for protection and nothing more, and know how to shoot them if I need to, but other than that, that's about my limit on gun knowledge. lol

Yeah, I am a badass..... :1orglaugh

Is that a 50 caliber Deej?

ShellyCrash 11-29-2010 05:18 PM

I am trying to get up the guts to fire a gun. I have a basic knowledge of how to fire all of the weapons we have in the house (like were the safeties are, etc) but every time I get to the range I chicken out.

Guns really flip me out but I am accepting that it's something I need to get over so if I ever *need* to use one, which I pray I never do, I'll be fast enough and confident enough to make it happen.

If anyone has any reccomendations for a good pistol w/o alot of recoil lemme know. I don't want to get too girly and get something too small caliber that;s not going to stop someone. Out of the pistols I've held the one that feels the best in my hand is the Ruger P90.

Davy 11-29-2010 05:22 PM

They don't let you fire too many weapons in the German military.
I shot 9mm Heckler & Koch pistol - that was pretty fun. The standard weapon we had was the G36 (which you can throw in the trash can after slightly hitting the sights). And of course the good ol' MG3. It's a bitch to carry around, but once it's set up, it's a fun toy. Firing with this machine gun and tracer rounds in the dark is like Christmas and New Years eve combined. :)
The best thing they let you do in the German military without special training is throwing some life hand granades (which is pretty unspectacular). They make "puff" and then you have shrapnel flying all around the place. :)

I feel for your almost friend, but I was a sonar tech, I only carried for security, if we attacked, it was to sink a ship, we didn't even have any land attack weapons other than small arms.
Oh, and it's Sailor, not soldier

Davy 11-29-2010 05:26 PM

Did you know? Heckler & Koch is having problems lately.
A financial investor mallicked them. It's a shame, because H&K is a great brand.

Bill8 11-29-2010 06:26 PM

The usual assortment of pistols, rifles, and shotguns.

I just traded net work for a remington model 700 in 30.06, a nice enough rifle, altho I prefer the .308 as an equivalent round.

My favorite pistol is a sig p226.

Not quite. I don't know many people that actually have guns.

But some of the people I know that DO have guns have more than some military forces.

we don't have much of anything that anyone would get in exchange for invading.

relatively little oil, no strategic metals to speak of, not all that many strategic resources in general that would be takeable and worth taking.

so, no point in invading. any attacker would try to reduce us from a distance, and probably by proxy.

we're already doing a pretty good job of reducing ourselves.

Argos88 11-29-2010 07:38 PM

never fired a single weapon... that's for DEVILS, assesins and nazis wannabe republicans.

BTW, in most decent countries, people CANNOT buy weapons over the counter, or when you open a bank account... KIND OF SCARY to give monkeys an AK-47...

Civilians should not be allowed weapons... and death sentence is not allowed in decent countries..

I really wonder what SICK RETROGADE country allows civilians to buy a weapon like they buy a chocolate and which country allows Death Penalty... In what sick alien planet do you guys live??

.

Phoenix 11-29-2010 07:47 PM

i dont remember the name of them all.
in korea i fired a Beretta hand gun. it was connected to the table so you couldnt wave it around..and since the table is built for koreans, i had to get down to shoot, not that fun.

shot some more guns in vegas...was very cool...hand guns, machine guns..dont remember the names of them all, near the end everyone was trading so we all fired lots of kinds.
some people in this biz are hella good shots

The US has the largest coal production and reserves on the planet.
The US has the largest (68%) shale oil resources on the planet
1 of 3 countries with the largest untapped natural gas reserves only behind Russia.

Now put your tinfoil hat on but it's heavily rumored that Nevada, 80% of the state's area is owned by the federal government has the largest untapped gold mines in the world. Kind of makes you wonder why they so heavily guard the remote military bases there.:2 cents:

We already sell our best anthracite to china, or so I have read. It's arguably true that 40 years from now we will be so weakened that if china wants our coal, or our real treasure our fresh water, we wont be able to stop them - but they wont have to invade, we'll happily sell it to them.

war with asia is inevitable, but it won't be our personal weapons that stops it, nor will it be by invasion. they will just outbid us and out-position us for the last good oil and the important strategic metals like tantalum and neodymium and the other rare earths. They'll control us by strategy, not invasion.

gold is not a terribly valuable or important metal strategically, so I didn't even consider it.

and personal weapons are no match for military weapons systems.

I suppose it's conceivable that china could occupy the west coast, but it's hard to imagine why they would want to. We'll sell them anything to keep our consumer society consuming.

I fired a grenade launcher in Cambodia at old cars. good fun. I also heard you can also blow up live buffaloes but I didn't as I felt sorry for the fellas.

Martin 11-29-2010 08:12 PM

Shot guns and rifles. Never a hand gun.

Minte 11-29-2010 08:40 PM

Civilian..too many to name. everything from a walther ppk to a 44mag.
When I was in the service. m16,m60,m203,m72law. 45, and the biggest one. I did the rfb for a live Pershing missile launch. That was impressive to watch.
