converting 1/400 uniques for past two monts with CCBILL

I just pulled stats for some unsaturated niche specific ccbill sites, and for past two months, converting at 1/400 with sub par traffic.

When I read threads of you guys converting at 1/5000, or 1/10,000 it really demonstrates to me that some of you with massive traffic, promoting saturated programs, posting on GFY with 20,000 posts have not figured out what has been a proven steady, stable gold mine.

Then again, I think a lot of you understand what converts but have political correctness issues that prevent you from accepting the inevitable direction of content demand.

with the gripes about ccbill, with the gripes about programs not converting, I am astounded that these numbers are still very possible even at this time of year, even with ccbill.

If you doubt the veracity of my statement, please put your money where your mouth is, and be ready to pay up.

I have had my faith restored in my niche, content, and processor.

You guys keep going at it with your 1/15,000 conversions. When one converts better with less traffic it proves the following statement....

Just because you are successful at generating large traffic, does NOT mean you have enough common sense to convert it.

Inversely if you are successful at creating enticing content, does not mean you have enough common sense to generate large traffic...LOL

The more you learn in this biz, the more you realize you don't know

Slutboat 11-30-2010 10:39 AM

damn.....layin it down....

zeuse 11-30-2010 10:43 AM

Blah... i just pulled stats for a Saturated niche that converts at 1:163 for over 18 months.

Neither one of us is a bad ass.

signupdamnit 11-30-2010 10:45 AM

With CCBill you know more what you are getting. But there can be a HUGE difference depending on the program you are promoting.

1. What cookie life are they using?
2. Do the tours have any leaks (clips4sale, etc)?
3. Any uncredited cascades or processors?
4. Is the default processor for typeins honoring your affiliate cookie?
5. What about cross sales (for rebills) ?
6. Are they updating? (rebills)

Some of the guys with 1:10,000 ratios are probably sending clicks when their affiliate ID isn't even showing up in the join form. Others are sending clicks to dead ccbill sponsors or those who switched completely to another processor. These will skew your global CCbill average. You've got to prune the bad ccbill sponsors regularly (at least once a year, better every six months). My CCbill average in 2010 is better than 2009 and currently about the same as 2007. But I'm pruning bad sponsors like a madman.

Daizzy has a great manual for affiliates here. It doesn't tell you everything but it tells you a lot: http://www.signbucksdaily.com/marketing/ccbill-manual/

you start a thread complaining about ccbill sales every week so i call bs. post proof.

Recently started promoting Pimp Roll with a fairly small niche, converted my first sale within the first 50 hits.

I mean 1/163 vs 1/7500

Maybe true, but doesn't it cause you grief, when you see people posting with 1/20,000 I even saw a thread very recently with somebody having the nerve to post a 1/40,000.

I saw that and said... You got to be f*&@ kidding me

For my self the ratio of 1/400 is one that I had not seen since back in the 2005-2007 days, so If I am witnessing a return to those ratios then I must ride it as long as possible.

Those ratios the last time I checked which was during july 2010 were much worse...more like 1/1000, 1/1500

so for me that is a nice return to a more respectable conversion ratio

John. 11-30-2010 11:10 AM

nice stats

dcalm 11-30-2010 11:31 AM

but ur not speaking about ratios on your own site... or do you?

SwirlsGirl,

I just noticed something.

1. Surfer clicks this link.
http://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clic...=1887005&BAN=0 (not my affiliate code, one I grabbed from google) but decides not to buy just then.

2. Surfer comes back an hour later and types in your domain saraswirls.com (or visits from a search engine, etc) http://saraswirls.com/ then the surfer clicks "Join" and gets taken to http://saraswirls.com/join.html where the following payment options appear (in order)

1. Verotel
2. Zombaio
3. CCbill
4. Alternate payments.

Now if the surfer joins from #1 or #2, does the affiliate with the ccbill cookie set get any credit for that join (I don't believe so because doesn't it first have to go through the ccbill cascade)?

A lot of savvy affiliates won't promote a program that doesn't give credit for this scenario, if not. This is because a certain percentage of conversions are lost. If the answer is no you might want to consider fixing it in some way such as by adding a special cookie which will only present CCbill as the primary processor if that cookie is set. It would make your program more affiliate friendly and your affiliates convert better (Assuming they are not getting credit in the scenario detailed above) and they then might push you more sales. Otherwise it's sort of like not having any ccbill cookie at all as far as type-ins go.

Not trying to start anything just pointing it out because I don't think many sponsors realize it. :) Perhaps I overlook something as well and your affiliates are actually getting credit for this. Please let me know if you don't get what I'm saying and I'll try to explain it better.

andrej_NDC 11-30-2010 11:50 AM

is that a new paysite? ccbill?

How is saraswirls.com supposed to know that the surfer has a CCBill cookie? Only CCBill can know that. The only solution to that scenario would be to remove the other processors and have them in a cascade instead, even if the surfer wasn't referred by an affiliate.

Okay, here's some tips that will help your business 'Girl:

CHANGE THAT FUCKING HORRID JOIN PAGE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHO the fuck would actually, you know, JOIN such a site? My GOD - let's make the top four pictures fucking clickable. Brilliant. Oh - and WHERE do those thumbs go? NO-fucking-WHERE, that's where. Idiotic.

Hey, let's give the surfer FOUR OPTIONS!!! People love choice, right? RIGHT?

NO - people are PARALYZED by choice. Give them ONE processor option and silently cascade the fucking rest. Most surfers wouldn't know the differance between CCBill, Epoch, Scott Zambaio or Joe's Buttfuck Credit Card Shack.

TOO MUCH CHOICE PARALYZES CONSUMERS.

Oh I could go on and on and....listen 'Girl: before you go busitng any processor's ass, like you are wont to do, make sure you have your basic ducks in a row, Join-page-wise. If I can take 3 seconds and find x# of problems instantly (barriers to JOINING) then how can you blame ANY processer?

Oh - and here's my FAVORITE: Come on GFY to complain about CCBill's ineffectiveness and don't list CCBill FIRST in your mind-numbing array of processor options. Yeah, list them THIRD then come here expecting some CCBill love. Har-di-har-har.

Fuck you, pay me - for fixing your fucking business.

I don't care about other peoples ratios. 8/10 of them are 16 year olds trying to be the next porntube.

Good question. There are different ways which different programs use. Since she has a special CCbill tour she is sending surfers to all she needs to do (one option) is set a cookie from her domain equal to the expiration of her current CCbill cookies. Then one way is to have her index or join page check for this cookie and if present send them to a CCBill only page where the affiliate gets credit. "virgin" typeins will not have this cookie and can still go to the normal type in tour.

It's worth the trouble fixing this because your savvy affiliates know about it. I send $1000 [but dwindling now] in sales each month to one program but would easily work harder to send five times that but I don't because it isn't worth it to me. I want that extra five to thirty percent more sales...my fair cut that I had before. I saw my signups drop since they changed it so I quit doing more promotion for them. Do you blame me? It's business.

SGS 11-30-2010 01:06 PM

I could sell that site all day and all night long but it needs some work there.

Are you serious??? Any program/site that generates their own traffic does this same thing.. They put up a "clean" tour for affiliates that doesn't have any traffic leaks. I mean come on.. Why don't they just cut you a check just for thinking about sending some fucking traffic.

fatfoo 11-30-2010 02:40 PM

It sucks when the traffic does not convert.

I'm VERY serious. If I send the surfer and CCBill sets a cookie and they come back one hour later by typing in your domain, I want my fucking cut. I sent the surfer to you they had no idea who you were before I sent them. I want my damn money. Either pay it or I'll send my traffic to someone else who will. There's no fucking way I'm going to tolerate 1997 era programs who effectively have no valid cookies. Do you think I'm some kind of fool? Or why don't I just send you people for free and you can pay me what you feel like paying as a donation? Fair is fair. Pay up.

nice ;) what niche?

Penny24Seven 11-30-2010 03:34 PM

I gave up coming on here with that info. I even offered to pay people for their traffic if they sent it to my site and it did not do at least 1:500 and the one that joined are still sending traffic.

And that's why programs are busy building their own traffic sources so they can get rid of guys like you that whine about everything... Hope you have an exit strategy.
