Zango - How Do they Steal Money From Webmasters Exactly?

I dont get it. they are all over the place now.. they advertise heavily on Ifilm.com or spike.tv.. pretty sneaky what they do and most people are probably stupid enough to fall for it. If you are not pushing your traffic to an affiliate program do they still steal from you? I dont get it?

Let me explain how zango works:

They pay people by the install. They install "adware" on to people's computers. They call it adware, even though they have admitted that several of their affiliates have downloaded it onto other people's pcs without their consent.

They give you bullshit games or porn to offer to people for free, only if that person downloads zango's crap. Now he is the kicker when you download their shit in the fine print it says you agree to allow zango to run shit on your pc that will pop up windows when you surf the net. Their software will run on your PC 24/7 in the background, and it will detect what is in your browser. So if a url like " ifriends" is in your browser window their software will detect that and pop up a new IE window over your window with one of your competitors.

There best way to explain it is with an example: I pay .50 a click for google adwords. Someone clicks my adwords link and goes to my website. This surfer cost me .50 Unfortunetly this person has zango on their pc, so when they click the link on my site that says " SIGN UP HERE NOW" (which goes to ifriends.com) Zango will detect this and instantly pop up a full screen new window over mine. The page that pops up is SexBankRoll's site 18oncam.com (FUCK YOU SEXBANKROLL). So I pay for the surfer (.50 a click), I pay for the bandwidth, I sell the person with my site/ads, and then when the peson clicks to signup he thinks the page that comes up is the page I was sending him to. So he ends up on 18oncam.com and signs up with them. I have ZERO chance at the sale. All of my traffic is hijacked by SexBankRoll because they are bidding on ifriend's domain names via ZANGO.

It is stealing at it's worse. You have a nieve surfer downloading something without reading all the fine print. The fucking surfer doesn't want popups every couple mins. No way would they download something that would give them popups all the time. Secondly, the surfer clicked on MY LINK! they wanted to go to the page I WAS SENDING THEM TOO, not some random sponsor who is bidding on MY FUCKING TRAFFIC.

Zango has had something like 80 Million downloads. I forget exactly but it is a LOT. Once zango is on the surfers PC you have ZERO chance at making sales. They target all the big adult AND mainstream sites. So you are wasting your money, and buying traffic for someone else to steal it from you.

Zango has been fined by the FTC for 3 million dollars but yet they are still allowed to opperate. The were fined for downloads with out the surfer's consent. It has been complained by many that they will crash your pcs a lot and there was even a lawsuit at one time against them on behalf of surfers because of damage it was causing people's systems. The suit was dropped though. What they are doing to us is technically not illegal mainly because the law hasn't caught up with the technology. However there was some cases a few years back were Gator was sued for doing pretty much the same thing but I beleived they settled out of court so there was no rulling.


What can you do?

NEVER promote zangocash for 1. Every PC that is infected with their shit it money that everyone of us is going to lose including yourself.

Don't promote sponsors who buy traffic from them. SEX Search and AFF/Cams were the 2 worst. AFF/Cams stopped only because the ad prices got too high and they weren't making a profit for them. So they are still shit IMO. Sex Search and SexbankRoll still uses them.

this is no different then someone stealing out of your back pocket. NEVER DO business with any of the companies mentioned in this thread and if you ever see them posting online tell them to go fuck themselves.

I would also suggest getting an old PC that you can Fdisk when you are done and download zango and surf the net, go visit your sites and see what happens. Seeing it first hand you will be fucking pissed.

no zango claims that they don't use any of the traffic for themselves. They claim that they sell all of your traffic to your competitors. You competitors either take your traffic and send it to their program or they take your traffic and send it to the same program you were advertising but with their affiliate code.

For example when I first noticed my traffic being jacked i was sending to clickcash. The person who was jacking my traffic was targeting clickcash.com domains and he was sending people to a page where he was setting his clickcash affiliate code over mine. Then there was other people like SexBankRoll who were targeting clickcash domains and sending the traffic to their site, 18oncam.com

Think of Zango like adwords, but people can bid on urls instead of search phrases. But google generates its own traffic, Zango steals traffic from people and then resells it to others.
