well no... that's what most of photo newbies think. I have like 20-30 more photos from tonight only with thunders on it. You don't need to be really quick to "catch the thunder". It's lot easier than you think. All you need to do is to setup your camera shooter speed to 20 or 30 seconds (long exposure) and tweak couple more things it becomes much easier to catch... a tripod is a must.
