Jumping Jambalaya!!! I'd eat the Gumbo off of her...Originally posted by camcutieHi AG.....I'll do that tonight. My friend Sabrina will be here for dinner..... http://www.camcutie.com/sabrina.htm
We might even eat desert off of each other for a new photoshoot. She got some new boobies and we are trying to replace her old pics with new ones.

Well, excuse me while I put on some Zydeco music and strum my washboard (if you know what I mean).

Mmmm...looks scrumptious!!!
Bonus points for the nice presentation too.
Just one thing, you might want to upgrade your beer (or did they pay you for the product placement, lol).

As for the beer, I don't actually drink beer except with seafood. I guess I should have been geographically correct and put some Dixie there for the pic. It is very nasty but loved by people in New Orleans as a local tradition.

You just don't know... gumbo is one of the most comfort foodsOriginally posted by strobiThats looks NASTTTYYYYY but probably tastes better than it looks.
I have a "cheat" version where I roast flour in a baking sheet (shake every couple minutes) until it is dark instead of frying up a rue. With barley and okra thickening up the end dish you don't miss the fat

My pet peeve with seafood gumbo is people who put anything other than seafood in it. My worst experience with "seafood gumbo" was one where the only thing other than liquid in it was a single D shaped half slice of sausage. Too many people (and restaurants) put in chicken, turkey, sausage, etc. and a handful of salad shrimp and call it seafood gumbo
If it don't swim it ain't seafood

Well said MG.........although I do have a very old recipe for awesome chicken and sausage Gumbo pased down from some of the poorer Cajuns around Crowley. It is either one or the other type of Gumbo, but never mix.Originally posted by mardigrasMy pet peeve with seafood gumbo is people who put anything other than seafood in them. My worst experience with other Gumbo was when I ate some with big chunks of Catfish in it. Even though it is seafood in a way it ruined the whole taste as a cheap filler.

Catfish in gumbo should be against the lawOriginally posted by camcutieWell said MG.........although I do have a very old recipe for awesome chicken and sausage Gumbo pased down from some of the poorer Cajuns around Crowley. It is either one or the other type of Gumbo, but never mix.

Maybe you should give that crazy cook a nice etouffee recipe
Seafood gumbo for me is shrimp, crab & oyster. If I were ever going to put fish in it I might consider one that holds a texture and accepts flavor, not adds different (like shark nibblets or something) but fish shouldn't be there and I've never done it myself. I'd be more likely to call any concoction with fish in it "stew"
Gumbo without okra should also be against the law. Seems some people are unfamiliar with the origin of the word "gumbo".

I boil it in a big pot first for about 30 minutes then rinse with cold water before adding it to the pot. It takes the slimey texture out of the okra and preserves the original Gumbo liquid. I hate slimey Gumbo!!!!!!

Wow....let me know how it was. Most places that claim to be Cajun around the U.S and world aren't really very good at all unless the chef or owner is actually from New Orleans or somewhere close. I've had some really bad experiences.....Originally posted by puravidaaaaaaaaaahhh. as a louisiana boy myself, i must say that looks daaaamn good. i actually found a creole restaurant here in downtown costa, gonna try it out this week. the chef is supposed to from new orleans
