Looking for Development Partners: SexBlog.com & PornBlog.com

Some of you may know that we're building a large blog network but due to requests from some of our investors & partners, we may have to sell two of our prized blog domains (DAMN):

SexBlog.com
PornBlog.com

But I'm hoping I can find some way to keep them "on the side" (wishful thinking) and develop them by partnering with adult webmasters/companies and keep both blogs independent from our mainstream blog network. I am supposed to begin looking for prospective buyers just in case we have to sell these domains before we launch. I won't know for sure until June 2005, but send in your offers/questions in the meantime.

Damn, Taboo. That's gotta hurt. Especially sexblog.com -- that's going to be something huge someday.

If it helps, I do suspect that a year from now, pornblog.com will look less valuable than it looks today. Just in the last few months, I've noticed that "pornblog" is rapidly becoming a value-negative term like "banner farm" or "popup hell". Web surfers who aren't specifically looking for porn are starting to use the word with scorn, in the same tone of voice as they say "spammer". Result of too many "I have hundreds of blogs" geniuses pissing in the well.

but plenty of new bloggers/readers popping up everyday. But one thing I noticed is so many domains built around sexblog and pornblog that the traffic will only increase, i.e.

TERMpornblog.com

so many of those out there.

my idea for PornBlog.com was a true blog (not tgp) documenting the adult industry (gossip,news,rumors,etc) and collaborating w/ porn industry veterans, webmasters, pornstars & starlets to start/maintain their own blogs... either developing our own network of blogs and/or aggregating/filtering and portal-izing what's already out there.

That's a great approach and it ought to work well. I didn't mean to suggest that the domain was going to become worthless or anything close to it. I just meant that it might not look *quite* so pretty in a year.

After a day's reflection, I'm not even sure about that -- domains in general and blog domains in particular are taking off so fast, any tarnish that accumulates might be lost in the glare from all the bling bling.

Considering how hot blog domains are right now with recent sales between $10K-$20K and only increasing, we are holding out for better offers. We are accepting bids in $1,000 increments. Package deals may be possible but not likely.

like I said, I'd prefer to keep the names... but that decision may not be mine to make. PornBlog.com has strong potential as a true "Blog". I wanted to add audio, video and camphone features as well... it would be great to turn it into a portal where everyone gets to have their own "blogcast" and be just like Seymour Butt's Showtime reality show "Family Business"... time will tell.


If I find a way to keep the domains, perhaps we can collaborate...
