Fansign Rules



Due to the large volume of Fansign threads, and the spam level abuse of some, here are the fansign rules at GFY.

1. Your 'announcement' thread has to have at least one fansign in the first post. The fansign must be for one of the big posters, such as Juicy, or moderators, such as me, on GFY.

2. Your fansigns must be completed in no less than three days, and you must do at least 20 of the first posters to the thread.

3. The cannot be computer generated or simple text that could have been computer generated. That is pure spam. They need to have texture and variation to them, in other words, it has to be totally obvious to anyone that they are hand made.

4. There cannot be any conditions to making a sign, such as you must signup for an affiliate program.

If you do not like the rules, don?t do fansigns and leave it up to the girls who really want the publicity.

Feel free to link this thread when someone doesn't know the rules.

They are after all puting in some work into these (well some are at least) and I personally thinking having a rule such as post your account name or affiliate number is very reasonable.

I felt the same way, but I can see the reasoning. As long as the signs are made for webmasters, they will most likely be on a webpage, attached to a ref url. Anything else would just be stupid.

I agree with you on this one. Fan signs are ALOT of work (I just delivered 40 of them). The rest of the rules are great!

Moderators or Lens, I can agree with... but some of the guys here with the largest post counts are the biggest assholes & tools I have ever come across in my life. Stupid rule.

Yep.... I won't be posting about fansigns (which I ALWAYS deliver) on GFY anymore because of rule 4. They take a lot of time, and we all know how much certain people like to waste others time on this board.

I think rule #4 should be ammended. Why should I take 10 minutes to have my model make a sign, shoot it, upload it, and link it if the person requesting it can't take 1 minute to signup to the program he is "supposedly" going to be using the sign to make money with?

I think rule #4 is fair and let me explain why. Almost all of the fansigns I've ever seen have the site's URL pasted on the bottom!!! That's free advertising right there for the site! Why would you complain when the pics (normally) have the site's web address on there and the surfer can see it plain as day? Just like sponsors who put their URL on the banners hoping someone will bypass clicking the affiliate link and type in the URL for themselves and sign up without the affiliate getting any credit for being the one who referred them. I HATE banners with URL's obviously. What I'm trying to say is, how is it not a win-win for both? Pics of your model with the URL at the bottom should be enough. We shouldn't have to be an affiliate.

So, say you DON"T put your site's URL on the picture. Then, well, there really is no incentive for you to put the fansigns up. If you want to get exposure for doing the fansigns, simply put the URL on the bottom of the pic. Simple solution!

I love getting fan signs, but I can't imagine why a girl would bother doing them for non-affiliates. They take a ton of time & so many of the requests will never be posted on websites or linked to the girl's site (like "so & so fucked me"). What's the point of a softcore teen site doing fan signs for a bondage site or a hardcore swinger site?

Maybe the top 20 posters get a fansign for free and anyone that wants one after that has to send one join or whatever Or better yet, you will only do 20 fan signs and end your post with something like "I can be coerced to do more" and leave it at that! If anyone else actually wants one, they will contact you. They will silently know what you mean

Or maybe just do the fansigns with no conditions as lens suggests and then make sure your webmaster program page clearly states that you offer fan signs after the first 5 joins or whatever.

I know #4 seems harsh but it's been getting out of control lately with the spams. I don't even look at them anymore personally cuz there are so many now that they aren't special anymore.

I think the girls would agree that it is alot of time and work but the value of the traffic you get from here needs to be recognized and respected.
