The place in my area will not allow a single guy to go in. They come to swing clubs looking for the easy lays and the pile on group sex situations. Honestly, most of them give me the creeps.

I have attended a lifestyles (swing group) convention, and I learned much about the situation inside that group and it's members. I would say be observation that the average age of a couple in that group would be closer to 40 than to 30... there are exceptions to the rule, but organized swinging is mostly NOT a young person's sport in america.

Finally, it should be pointed out that operation of a swing club for profit is a business on very shaky legal ground in many cases. Things like licenses for alcohol and such are hard to get if your club allows (or encourages) sex on the premises in many states and counties in the US. Even charging money to enter can make them into a common bawdy house, which can also be an issue. In many states, swing clubs get raided and shut down for various reasons.

The result of this is keeping the swing lifestyle sort of on the fringes, in the dark, and just slightly out of sight.

Yeah we have been to quite a few... depending on the people there it can be an amazing atmosphere. Most swinger's clubs though are "off-premise" clubs for legal reasons though, so the real fun happens at the parties afterwards. There are some clubs that allow some activity on premise, but the real appeal is the fact that the vast majority of the people are fun and accepting. Really all depends on the club. ;)
