Suicide Kings (although not an all out mafia flick) was a good movie with a mafioso theme going on. Got the DVD for $5.00 in a bargain bin, so I would say its underrated.

Empire with John Leguizamo was a good one also IMO.

The Godfather Part III is underrated.

I used to think King of New York was underrated, or at least not as well known as it should be. However, having seen it again recently I think much of it is actually quite dull.

A agree with both of these. I like the Godfather III a lot more than most people. I think it became convential wisdom that it was a bad film so now people believe it regardless of whether it is true.

When I first saw King if New York I thought it was great but I saw it recently and it does not seem so good.. kinda cheesy and not very believable. Things To Do In Denver When Your Dead is a pretty cool gangster related flick that not too many people mention.

Donnie Brasco is definetely underrated. Another good flick that no one mentions is "Gotti"... I think it is very well done (may have been straight to video but it was a good flick I think).

Actually the movie itself is pretty ... old ... but the story is great ... guy who does nothing wrong except get rid of the crap ... doing more work then the cops. Then get shot at.

The first time I've seen godfather 3 I hated it ... I thought it ruined the serie . After watching it 2-3 more times ... it became beleivable for some reason...

My best friend was working at HBO at the time. This was supposed to be a feature but they ran out of money and HBO picked it up.

It's Once Upon a time in America....and unless you've seen the directors cut (which nobody really has unless you buy it on DVD in Europe) you really can't appreciate how crazy, violent but yet brilliant of a movie it is.

Deniro, Pesci but it never made a national release because the MPAA killed it.

I believe its the only movie to ever have the director request that his name be taken off of it

Boondocks Saints is garbage.
City of God is good...but you can't watch it more than 3 times...all the way through.
Godfather 1 & 2 are so fucking good. I can watch it over and over again....brilliant.
Goodfellas and Casino are such enjoyable movies.

I think Donnie Brasco should be right up there with Good Fellas .... King of New York is also one of the top gangster movies ( plus our web designer Toni was in that movie when she was 7 or 8 ... she was the little girl dancing at the Irish cops wedding ... a good 3-4 second clip of just her on the big screen .. it's very funny when i watch it ) ..... Gangs of NY was another great one ... but doesn't get the same status because it didn't take place in the Mobster hey day ... but great flick ...
