p2p: Adding popups to quicktime movies - tutorial

By popular demand from an earlier thread (http://www.gfy.com/showthread.php?t=618943).
This is a rather cheap and easy way, but it seems to work.

    Questions/comments welcome

    You will need:
    1) Macromedia Flash
    2) QuickTime Pro
    3) Several MPEG/QT movies that you want to add popups to

There are several ways of accomplishing our goal, and editing MOV files in general::
    - QuickTime Pro
    - Adobe GoLive
    - TotallyHip LiveStage

I've listed them from least expensive to most expensive.

QuickTime Pro allows a lot, but there's some hacking involved.

GoLive has a QT editing feature that not a lot of people know about. They actually have one dedicated guy who does quicktime scripting for GoLive, and it's been maturing from version to version. Right now GoLive can act as a full fledged editor with scripting support.

LiveStage is a QuickTime powerhouse that can do pretty much anything. But it's also quite expensive.

I'm assuming that you, as a rather financially conscious webmaster don't want to spend too much right now, so go ahead and buy QuickTime pro. It's cheap and will do the job.

I agree completely. This has a slim chance of working with one or two servers. Proceed with caution.
