Some things I do:

I pull up the loans by when they are going to end, see if there are any close to ending that are either funded or close to funding and if the interest rate is good, I hit them.

Also pull up the auto funding ones with high interest rates - they end as soon as they are funded even if there's a week left on them so if there's $X left with a high rate and you're willing to close it down, you can.

But damn, that was a GOOD 28 - no current lates!!!

If people don't pay, they have a collection agency that goes after them. The concept is that you're spreading the liability over a large number of people. So you could have a $50 loaned out on a $10K loan instead of a $10K loan to someone.

A lot of these are covering for payday loans which are in the 100%+ range. People can lower their monthly payments by hundreds of dollars by going "down" to 27%.

Now if we were REALLY smart, we'd open a payday loan store

Payday loan places can compound interest here DAILY, which roughly works out to about 300% interest per year... a fucking killer racket... they are trying to get restrictions put on the payday loan market here...

A $300 loan needs $100 paid off in less than 2 weeks to eliminate the interest and filing fees for just that 2 week period... + late fees n shit like that... your loan ends up being a severe ass raping..

Each collection agency charges a percentage of the loan. The one I picked is 20%. IMO, if someone doesn't pay, I'm writing it off. I don't usually bid more than $50-100. I have a couple for $300-400 but nothing higher than that. It will be an interesting experience. I'm not putting more than I can say goodbye too. It's purely a gambling thing to me.

Yeah, I put in a high bid for a low interest rate for a USAF guy who was having payday loan problems. Sometimes I bid with my heart and not my wallet.
