A Warning to the Contest Bots.

When I see users doing a refresh of GFY more than 200 times in less than 15-minutes, I will be breaking out the BAN hammer.

Two users just found this out the hard way.

I know I refresh quite a bit myself when it gets within 10 or so posts of a win but I don't think I do it that many times.

I refresh it like 10-30 times when it's time to shoot in contest thread. I can't do it faster than that coz I have 256 kbps internet connection that doesn't work always so great. Guess that's the main reason that I only won once in those threads.

210 in 15 minutes! That's like once every 4.2 seconds if I did the math right. Couldn't do that manually, not on my PC anyway. GFY just doesn't reload that fast every time. Thought the delays were put in on purpose to refresh and post to foil attackers??

My average load time for a page is arround 2-5 secs here. Your PC is fucking slow. But I agree that on a big topic it might take a lil longer.

So someone would have to be leaning on F5 if he didn't have a script. I have a hardware and software firewall in addition to Kaspersky. That might expalin some of it. Using DSL, cable would be faster.

About this time last year, the phone company was talking fiber drops, but that project faded.
