Doctor says it'll heal up 100% now that I'm on prevacid.

They're not even actually ulcers. It's "stomach erosion". Basically precursers to ulcers, but since it was caught early, it'll be reversed before it ever gets to that point.

Nasty bastards were still enough to fill my stomach up with blood though.

Nope, I only drink water and fruit juice. I wasn't a huge boozer either (had a fagtini on friday nights, and drank wine on occasion with dinner, that's about it).

The doctors think the problem was I only usually ate 1 meal a day (how I've always been). So, acid would build up all night and day in an empty stomach until I ate dinner.

So, I'm now eating small little meals all day long and taking prevacid twice a day. Have to do that for a month until I go in to get re-evaluated. Then I'll probably be down to 1 prevacid a day and breakfast + lunch + dinner.

Thanks for the answer. I had similar problems about 13 years ago and they gave me Prilosec to get over it. Still can't drink too much pop, and certainly not on an empty stomach.

I was never a huge eater. I eat when I get hungry, which was usually just once a day. It's been hard eating basically non-stop now (have to in order to keep the stomach acids down for now).

I hope I don't loose my gurlish figure!

sometimes my gut hurts and has pains but i take care of myself for a few weeks and it goes away.

I went to the hospital because I woke up one morning feeling sick to my stomach and could taste blood, and was feeling light headed. Turned out my stomach was full of blood (they pumped out about 2 pints of it).

That was the first sign of trouble. Never had stomach pain, or acid reflux, or anything else.

Did it hurt to have the blood pumped out, did they give you anaesthetic or put you to sleep first???? where did they insert the tube and what does it feel like?

Getting the blood pumped out was AWFUL!!!! They inserted what's called an NG Tube. Goes down your nose through your throat into your stomach.

They make you sit on your hands and hold you down while they do it. They fucked up the first time and the tube ended up in my lungs sucked the air right out of me. AWFUL!

Had blood dripping from my nose from the tube scratching the hell out of it.

It is not at all a pleasant feeling or experience.

When they did the endoscope later on they sedated first so that wasn't as bad of an experience.
