"In a blow to the adult industry today, a strong majority Congressional vote, reminiscent of the recent broadside to the online gaming industry, made it illegal to allow minors access to obscene material online.
All adult age verification, is now required to be authorized through ICUS (ICANN Sponsored, U.S. Government Issue) identification cards, prior to being given access to restricted materials.
Other hard hitting stipulations rendered Banking Firms and Credit Card Companies liable, for processing transactions without ICUS approval.
The aforementioned clause, was signed onto the tail end of a bill (HR4487), allowing renewed offshore oil drilling to foreign oil companies within 100 miles of US Territory. The Senate, already on recess, voted unanimously with no deliberation on the topic."
