The sad thing is that this is not when using my newly acquired iPhone but my Nokia n80 while traveling abroad. I used a whopping (not) 90MB data transfer on the tiny weeny display my phone had to surf a little while bored.

Evidently ATT did not have an agreement with the country in which I was in and charged more per MB than what hosting cost in the adult industry in the mid nineties!

Absolutely right there. Problem was that I went to Croatia for a week and lord and behold, ATT does not have any agreement with any company there so the charges got multiplied on top of each other. Didn't even strike my mind.
