Just went out to see the storm damage (Pics)

While they haven't yet determined whether my eensy-weensy little town's storm last night was a tornado or not, we did have some damage.

The damage is pretty much curtailed to a small area that is roughly 10 blocks from me. Couldn't go down some of the streets becaue of the cleanup. The munchkin and I heard the noise right before the power went off last night. I thought it was very rumbly thunder.

The first picture with snapped trees and debris in the woods is maybe 100 yards from where you turn into my street.

I was honestly being happy to the 'bland' weather here. Sure, we get rain but we don't really get snow (in London at least) and it doesn't usually get very very hot. I will take that over the heat waves and blizzards I grew up around in the States.

You were correct, Les. The National Weather Service people were here yesterday, and they called it an F1.

Thanks everyone...and no, I didn't have any damage at all. The only sign of anything different was that one of my trash cans was picked up out of the little...alley...that I keep them in between the deck railing and the garage, and blowed around in front of the garage.

The way that the NWS people say that the storm tracked through here...well, basicially, it got down to where that first picture is...the one that I said was about 100 yards from the beginning of my street...(i'm at the end of my street where it curves around to a dead end)

and it veered right into a wooded area and then went on to hit north of town. If it would have veered left, it would have went straight into my subdivision, and my house is on a direct line with the entrance, at the highest point.

But it didn't, and for that I am glad.
