we call this breed Fanboys! I'm all for PS3, but I seriously don't care if they go multi console... it'll just give them more momentum to make even better sequels in time and a petition really won't get in the way of profit for these guys.

Square wants to make money. Releasing it on a platform that is approacing 20 million units worldwide = profit. They're in the business to make money.... not cater to Sony Fanboi's.

Sony shot themselves in the foot, ass and head several times with the PS3. While a great machine that will have a much longer shelf life, the initial cost of $700 and lackluster sales cost them several exclusive titles, and will cost them more, with FF being the latest.

Quite honestly, you'll start seeing less console-exclusive titles, on both platforms, outside of the 1st Party releases.

Guess where that got MGS4...NOWHERE. I didn't buy it. I'd like to play through it but they don't make it for my platform of choice. I own a ps3 but it's a DVD and blueray player, nothing more. I don't buy games for it. The 360 is a vastly superior gaming platform.

Those reasons don't make the platform superior. Your assertions simple mean that Microsoft is better at marketing, that's all.

Microsoft had a year's head start, which is huge in the gaming world. The PS3 was delayed by both the wait time for the new Cell processor (which makes it the most powerful gaming system on the planet) and the resolution time in dealing with blu-ray DRM issues.

By the time the PS3 rolled around, developers had already become comfortable with the Xbox development cycle, not to mention that designing for the PS3 involves a bit more concentration on the Cell processor as opposed to the GPU (the only thing in the xbox that is technically superior).

Microsoft has an aggressive game title selection process and they know about creating communities. The latter gave them the advantage in terms of Xbox Live.

The PS3 will pick up even more as the industry's processing demands grow. It's just a matter of time.

Heh, I just sat them there for the picture. My wii is hooked to the main TV so when people come over they can play. My 360 and PS3 are in the bedroom since I am the only one that plays those. My DS sits on the back of the shitter and my PSP is in a desk drawer. I don't play anything but PC games at my desk.

PS3 - 405,500 units

360 - 219,800 units

The PS3 has always outsold the 360 in Japan by at least factor of 10X. The PS3 has been outselling the XBOX 360 in Europe sicne last October.
