For those who've followed some other postings, you already know that my business partner wants to cash out his end of the business. He needs as much money as possible for his lawsuits for last years accident.

Based on what he is asking for, and what I am willing to pay we are off on the numbers. Instead of arguing, I was going to simply opted to close down most of the clip stores, and sites associated with the partnership. After all, I have already started work on new production company, and content. He wanted to cash out existing assets.

In the end, I retain content library, and he gets proceeds of fire sale. I have a few more sites, and stores we have not finalized if I am going to keep, but these listed must go.

So this is more a less a fire sale for the sites listed.

However, I am in a position to get rid of a money grubbing headache. The sooner it's done, I can focus on getting back to work and stop hearing about lawsuits, need for money, and what not.

I simply wanted to close the doors, pay to keep content library, and be done with it. He moves on to lawsuits, I move on to new production company, content, sites.

In this economy, and state of industry. Yep. That is exactly what I said.

Which is why I offered to pay him for the content library piece, and just wanted to close the clip stores and web sites, and he can go on his merry way, and I would just keep doing what I am doing under new brand, and company.

But because of his financial situation with the lawsuits from the explosion last year, he wants every last nickel and dime out of not just this partnership, but his other things also. I told him that I would have to sell for more a less bargain basement prices in this market, but he did not care. He needs money for his legal crap.

So I told him I would throw up some listings, and we'll see but to not hold his breath. That said, I simply want to be done with it. Sign the papers, pinky wave, and wish him well. No more calls every other day.

Yeah, he was not from this industry, nor has any internet experience. He was more a less a money guy. He has a lot of other investments in rentals, car wash, and so on. He had retired from Pfizer a few years back.

Anyways, after his accident last year he damaged a lot of the marina and people's yachts (lawsuit). On top of that, when the housing market was good, he took out all of the equity in his 30+ rentals. Now they are back to worth what they should have been $50-70 instead of the $125k. So he is swimming in debt. He is also trying to sell his half mil house on the lake. For him, he simply wants to get money from, and liquidate whatever he can that is the easiest to get some money, for all his b.s..

I figured it would come this year sometime, so I was ready. But, he wants a lot more out then put in, and while I wanted to just close stuff (because of the market), split the content library, and sign the papers. He wants to nickel and dime every last cent out of the partnership. So I told him I would have to sell some of it at a fire sale. He doesn't care. Hence the thread.

I was looking more for strategic, or limited partnerships. Where the other person actually had some business skills, and brought something to do the table. In this one, I was doing 99% of the work, and he was more a less the house and money man to get started.

It is not to say the partnership is/was all bad in the beginning. But over time, he did less, and did not want to do his three responsibilities. Stills, accounting, house.

However, this is more about his need for money for his lawsuits, and being maxed out on credit. Selling out of this business is the easiest turn around for cash. Between my buying out the content library, and selling off remaining assets.
