It makes a difference for this reason - If it is man made than we can divert resources to preventing these changes. If the changes are only minutely influenced by our activities, that effort would be much better spent preparing to cope with the inevitable.

Before I start thinking the sky is falling I have 2 questions..

1- What will lowering man made CO2 by 20% really do when man makes only 2.5-3% of the global CO2 (this lowers it by say 1% over all)

2- If this is a world wide pandemic that will be as bad as they say.. Why is Gov' trying to profit? Fining people for CO2 is much the same as luxury tax..
Normally I see a natural disaster and the powers that be, join in with what is needed to help.. they don't tax the people... Why is profit even in the picture? Currently a number of country's have joined in to cover the cost of CERN' (in the billions of $$) with no tax on the people... What about a few billion in research for cheap solar panels?
