You pay someone and nothing gets done, when to post?

Lets say you pay someone to do some things for your company.
You make agreements, and nothing gets done.
They were paid half upfront, to be paid the other half upon completion.

You send emails, icq messages and even tried to call on the provided phone numbers.
They don't answer any of your attempts to just get the work promised done.

The worst part about it is , this is all stuff I could have easily done myself and not very complicated or even that tedious. (but who cares if it is, you were paid and agreed upon the work that was to be done)

NOTHING has been done.

So, GFY'ers when is it appropriate to call this person out on the boards and let people know that you have been ripped off so that they don't do it to others?

Good will doesn't include getting fucked over.

If they are not responding now, they will not respond later.

You paid them and now they are disrespecting you. They may have a very good reason for not completing the project but there is never a good reason for ignoring somebody that you owe money or product to.

I've not had any problems with other great people I've worked with from GFY. And yeah, I'll agree that just choosing someone that has a public presence is a better way to go

i have this problem all the time when i buy stuff from people like scripts or so. until the purchase they respond within seconds. but when there are problems after the install it takes days to get a reply. right now i am doing this with 2 "companies" and it's not good for my blood pressure
