I think people shouldn't use their personal problems as excuses as to why they can't pay you. Everyone has personal problems, illnesses, etc...

How long does it take to make a payment? couple minutes? There is no excuse why a payment can't be made unless the person in question is in a hospital bed with no way to connect to the internet. If they can find the time to make an excuse they have enough time to pay you.


Excuses or are just excuses, a reason they think is good enough to not pay you because they either don't have the money or don't want to pay.

What I Went Through Below from a different thread....

I saw you all over the board looking for work so I thought I would give you a logo for a PERSONAL project back in March. It was for my mainstream stuff for ME, and not for a client, so I could test you out to see how you were. Well, you went MIA for months on end, constantly giving excuses of family problems, until I finally got a logo design out that was absolutely horrible. I asked you for revisions and then you came to me asking for payment because you needed to pay hosting. All I ever got was excuse after excuse after excuse after that.

10-09-2009 = Consider it done before sunday.
10-14-2009 (Tuesday) = Hey Sarah sorry, I am currently working on it, I will post it here when done.

this is when I got a logo that looked like a recycling logo (not at all what I wanted). That same day I asked for some revisions

10-15-2009 = Hi Sarah, I will be comming up with a total new design tomorrow afternoon.
Can I ask you a favor though? I need to pay for my hosting and I just cashed my epassporte last week (forget this bill). Could you send me the $150.00 for the logo in advance? Don't worry I will make it work.

The very first thing you said was "consider it done on Sunday" and then didn't post anything until that Wednesday, so this has been an issue since the beginning. Remember when I gave you this back in March? Then I came to you in May and you said you'd get them done in the next few days. Then you came back in July and said you were "busy with personal things". Then you came back in August saying you were having a "bad period of time". I can't keep this going on for months and months with this. Now it's because of family problems. Apparently this is an ongoing problem and I shouldn't have given you half down in the first place.

That's fine that your family comes first before your business. But it doesn't come before my business, especially when you give me no idication of what's going on. If you are going to ignore your work, that fine...but you forfeit any right to be upset or expect anything from the people who have been waiting on you while you made that decision. And those people you keep waiting have every right to expect a refund while you ignored them.

Why is it that you would be upset about your lost time, when it's YOU that put yourself in that situation? How about my lost time as your paying client that was relying on you to do my personal logo? It's not like you were doing exactly what you should have been doing and I just backed out. You left me hanging for days on end, completely ignoring me.

I told you on the 25th that I didn't want you to do this anymore. If you decided that day to try and push something out so you didn't have to give a refund, then I'm sorry. I didn't ask you to do that. I am so dissatisfied with how this was handled, with your time management, and with the empty promises of preview dates. That's not how I like to do business. I'm very unhappy since March when I originally gave you this and I don't want you to do it and I want a refund.

I'm doing good, blew a lot of money over the years, I've finally grown up and stopped blowing money on stupid shit like I used to. I hope to be able to retire totally within 5 years and travel a lot. I don't know I love working so much doubt I'll ever retire. My dating network is supporting me pretty good now and the gay traffic is taking off like a rocket. I'm always putting money I make into new ventures, some work, most fail. Dating and gay traffic is the future for me. I'm living in a 8000 square foot house on the intercoastal and funny thing is I'm tired of it. I miss the simple life. My daughter is pregnant so I'm gonna be a grandpa soon, this has really made me re-evaluate my life. I want to "downgrade" my lifestyle and make it simple again with lots of money in the bank for my kid and her kid. My daughter will be helping with my dating program and hopefully one day run it totally so I can take off and travel with my wife. I guess I'm at that point that there is nothing I want that I don't already have. My kids future is all that matters to me at this point.

Income for November was double Octobers, but so far Decemember is only like 150% of Novembers income. My target goal was 200% income growth per month. I'm still at over $2 per free member so the model is sound and profitable. The cobrands so far to date are not sending the amount of traffic needed to double income every month.
