In 2010 you really need to know how to develop quality targeted traffic. Plain and simple. It means a lot less sign ups, but you will have better conversion and retention. Having content that converts helps, and knowing how to sell. Especially niche.

Be happy you had such great conversions before.

Im normally around 1:3k and im 1:3300 this month so a bit higher but last month was actually 1:3600 so im seeing an improvement and slowly getting back to "normal".

I send an assload of traffic though so my higher ratios still do very well.

I wouldnt get too panicked as mentioned ebb and flow. Just keep your head down and work hard and develop some new traffic sources to go along with your current setup.

ps. Ive had some record high and record low days all in the same week! So dont get too awfully bothered. ;)

This biz for an affil is trying 10 things to find three that work. Not a cheap game anymore.

Traffic is priced right along the break even point for most affils so it is very tough.

Hold on tight to your winners and shake the loosers (with respect, they were once great payers) and keep on moving on.

Remember as paysites shakeout, affil traffic funnnels into the winners more and more. Allowing them to invest and like ND (our example) give affils $100 a signup nights. that money didnt grow on trees it is because they have a winning product. Together we go forward.

Yes it is really something strange what happened yesterday. My sales were totally down. I ended up with 2 sales and 2 rebills and that is a fraction of what I normally have. Also Tuesday was not that good but not as bad as yesterday. I hope this will turn A.S.A.P.

Yes, early May was great in sales (tough not better than normal) but it is always after the 15th of the month that things change and that hurts my conversions (and my wallet)...
It looks like the surfers are having some cash issues and they can solve their needs by watching free porn at the tubes. But I am sure that if you have something different you will always make cash...

HD is very important depending on what KIND of paysite you have. I don't believe everyone even wants 'HD', they just think they do. LOL For me, I don't really want to see 'amateur HD' because so much of 'true' am porn is just badly lit horribly shakey (good) crap. Making it all crystal-clear wouldn't add to the experience, I feel.

Many people are (understandably) negative these days but you really only have two choices, in the end, right?

I don't think its just with adult membership sites. I have a number of businesses that sell digital goods in games (MMO's) and those sales have been dismal. In fact, the lowest I've seen in 4 years with some sites having hit all time lows of $0 for nearly two weeks now which has never happened in those locations. However, my traffic is still strong. They are out there they just aren't spending. Welcome to the world of e-commerce I guess.
