IP address range effect on search engine ranking

Over the years I have read that some people believe that it is necessary, when dealing with a large portfolio of domains, to spread them out over various IPs in different ranges. Have you had any experience with moving multiple domains from one or a few IPs to multiple IPs across 2 or 3 ranges and seen any positive effect on search engine rankings and/or traffic?

Matt Cutts is the greatest misinformation that Google ever put out there. People follow his advice to the word and never consider the source...

Good luck listening to the guy paid by Google when your goal is to rank higher in Google than you 'should' for terms. If Google knew a way to rank your site ahead of other sites that were
more 'deserving' of being toplisted... how long do you think it would be before they announced it through Matt or anyone else.

I used to believe in separate IP ranges however that was around 2000.
Hope it is not true as I am fucked.

In my experience if you're doing white hat you usually don't even need separate IP addresses let alone different subnets.

You don't like my posts? Put me on ignore or fuck right off. I'll say what I want.

if it's a myth, spreading your domains over different ip's won't hurt.

No point having a bunch of different IPs if all your domains have the same name servers and owner in WHOIS. Think about it.

Excuse me, but what Matt says in his videos is all true. Yes, it's pretty basic info if you ask me, but its the first place I send people to, to learn about SEO, it's the official voice from Google.

I agree with you Argos. It surprises me that WiredGuy (who I always thought is an SEO expert) says that Matt Cutts videos are misinformation. Khm, excuse me?

Matt talks about the quality, which the Google is all about! If you have quality site with unique content, oh boy will you be ranked!! Of course there will always be people who will try to scam and try to cheat Search Engines, but that usually doesn't last for very long time.

So if you want to make a good ranking on Google, start with watching couple of Matt's videos, and you'll see it works.
