                                Altho I might not agree with what 12clicks is saying, at least he feels good about his own country.

                                It doesn't make much sense to try and convince him that he should not. Making fun of Americans can be quite entertaining but some people are taking this discussion way to serious.

                                If you are happy with your own country be happy that you are living in it and not somewhere else. If you don't like your own country it makes no sense to blame others, Do something about it yourself.

                                                                    anyway; my 2 cents;

                                                                    compared to let's say europe there really _is_ a lot of ignorance about the world outside their borders in the US _BUT_ the most important reason for this is that europe and a lot of other parts in the world are US-orientated; in europe you can also watch jerry springer every day (man! you must be a sick person to invent this show!), eat with mcdonalds, go to disneyland etc etc etc.

                                                                    So in brief; A LOT of shit we do/see over here are from the states so it's logical we know relatively much about it. on the other hand; you guys barely have info/news/stuff from over here, only things from your own country -> quite logical you get the feeling the US is all there is.

                                                                    By the way; i don't think this is a good thing... coz it has made it possible for Bush to become president... if you guys from the US only knew _a little bit_ what he's actually telling you about us, the outside world, you would be _deeply, deeply_ ashamed...

                                                                    But that's another thing... coz the fact that Bush's election is the most ignorant national mistake ever made in the US should be clear for a looong time now

                                                                                            I am sick to death about how dumb the average American is... even those with an extensive education. If we (Americans) as a whole actually spent any time looking into the countless millions of laws, statutes, etcetera, that have been forcefully shoved down our throats, there would be open rebellion in the streets. Do you realize that the American Revolution started because of a 1% tax? How much are you paying to the government now? Did you know that the federal income tax was never properly ratified by the individual states which makes it unconstitutional and therefore illegal? (and don't all elected federal officials swear to uphold and defend the Constitution?) Whatever happened to "no taxation without representation"? I know... we have elected "representatives", but just who is it that they are actually representing? Certainly not me or any subject matter that is of importance to me. They spend millions of dollars researching stupid shit like cow farts and how fast ketchup flows in a given space (you think I'm joking, but you just can't make up shit like that) but ignore actually important things like making sure that all Americans (not just the rich) can get a decent education. Wake up, people! The dumber the public becomes, the more power the government will sieze.

                                                                                                            I work with Foreign Nationals all the time here in America. I think they are stupid as fuck, but I don't go on the BBS to tell everyone. I guess now is my chance.

                                                                                                            They don't know what the rules are, even after you tell them. They don't know where anything is, even after you draw them a map. They don't seem to pay attention, unless it will help them get something they need. Even when they do pay attention, they still don't understand.

                                                                                                            So do I ever want to go anywhere else? No I am nice and comfortable here. That way these dumb foreign nationals can't be all around me.

                                                                                                            If I go elsewhere things are different, people speak different languages so I can't understand things. Roads and buildings are in different places than I am familiar with so its easy to get lost. When trying to understand someone, they get frustrated when I don't understand, so after awhile, I just nod my head.

                                                                                                            Bottom line, cultures are different, locations are different. So if you don't know the cultures and locations your not dumb your normal and probably as smart as anyone else.

                                                                                                            PS. This was not written to insult anyone, it was written to expose the fact that people are different everywhere. But of course I didn't have to tell you that because you are as smart as anyone else.
