They would have been added instantly... which site couldn't you find your link on?

all links are located at: <whatever-the-sitename-is.com>/dir/links.php

All of them have a link to the links page from the main pages at least once if not several times. (Some links to the links page might be labeled Links #2 or Links Page 2.. )

Your links should still be there, but they will be removed when the script detects that you have removed your reciprocal link.
