Is .net still important

I have purchased 25 unique niche domains with plans on making a site (WL for now) for each of them. I initially was buying the /com and .net but now I'm not so sure how important that is.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Jason

Jason,

Having the .net is never a bad idea, but in my opinion only, 99% of your traffic will go to the .com first; then the .net. People have been using the .com since the start of what most of us see as the internet; and the .com is the main domain name.

Something you could do, if you grab the .net's is once your main site grows, you could spin off the .net or sell it to someone who is getting started. Just a thought.

Thanks,
Anthony

I had an affiliate grab up the .org version of my domain name... sort of doing a piggy-back on what ever success I build... I would say that having the .net for your domains is probably a good "protection" idea if nothing else...

Over the past couple of weeks I have accumulated some domain name I think will work well. I have about 35 .coms right now that I think are decent so I prob wont be getting the .nets got now, out of my budget until I can start making some money =}.

Thank you very much for your input and ideas, I didn't expect to have s many tlds when I initially posted.

I would like to get some opinions on my domains, am I allowed to create a post like that without getting in trouble for posting my domains? None of them are active but one and its lnl a shell as I am trying to find a content provider.

Any advice would be great.
