I have a question about affiliate links

Is an affiliate program (ie. Kinkydollars) able to determine where your
affiliate link was posted? haSo if I posted it on a yahoo answers page
would kinkydollars be able to determine that's where the customer came
from?

I do not plan on posting on yahoo answers... Just an example. haBut I
am interested in knowing if they can find out where I am sending
subscribers from. haAlso I have no intention to email market, I
understand it's a violation of most companies TOS.

Thank you for you time. And thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond
