I know its $750 for Visa but Do you have to pay some fee for every credit card company you want to be a merchant of?

A "Merchant Account" generally allows you to accept both Visa and Mastercard. But, the fees to set-up are much more than $750.00.

Its also a fairly hard thing to do with credit checks, gateway selection and set-up, etc.

MAs for adult products are rare with only a few banks in the USA issuing them.

I'd visit NetBilling.com and talk to them to get started. Or search this board for some of the experts that help arrange such things if you are sure your business is prepared for it.

Otherwise, use CCBill.com and avoid the hassles.

with epoch.com its 750 to accept the credit cards. then there is a monthly percentage based on the amount of sales you have. The more you have the less percentage. They are very easy to use. they have their own password system. They will send you check every month for free, or over night it or do a wire transfer for a fee... So far so good.

750$ is for Visa...If you do not need one, a cart, for hard products like toys or something then you know who to go with..
