need help...
Hello
Basically the problem is this: I have opened up a store on a particular website, and they have closed my store. They claim I am in contravention of the 2257 regulations that I believe govern the porn industry. Here is the background. I make flashing videos...that is I flash women, I video their reactions and that, simply put, are the sorts of videos I make. I do NOT masturbate, I do NOT touch myself. It is simply a case of nudity in public, which in the country I reside in is NOT illegal. But this site that has closed me down are saying that I need signed releases from the "models", that is from the women involved. MY QUESTION IS THIS: is what I'm doing part of the porn industry. That is, I do NOT hire anyone, there is NO sexual act of any kind (if you accept that mere nudity is not a sexual act) I am simply recording live events as they occur in public. The site that has closed me down say that it occurs within four walls (some of my videos do, some of them don't)...but the "four walls" are still public places where the public go...such as shops, foyers, and so on. Would appreciate it if anyone could clear this up. I do not understand the porn industry very well, but I do not think I am a part of it...and so I do not think 2257 applies...but maybe I am wrong...would appreciate help on this |

yea the 2257 would only apply to yourself as you are the only one doing a sexual act. you are doing a sexual act tho - exposing yourself to other people. it would be the same as if you were exposing yourself to a camera alone in a room. most likely their problem with it is that it is probably deemed obscene, as most odd (or revolutionary) sex videos are obscene.
my recommendation is to open your own pay-per-view site with PornCMS (see below) and rake in the money. that is surely a money maker, and we will never close you down due to content. good luck!

If it's a US-based store then they need to abide by US laws. Even if it's not hosted in the US, a lot of sites voluntarily follow US 2257 laws because they do a lot of business in the US.
